Hikin' Mama
Two years ago on April 21 I did my first running half marathon. (I had walked one previously.) I had been running 3 months. The race begins with 8.5 miles of uphill and 2000 feet elevation gain. Then when your legs are good and tired, you do the last 4.5 back downhill. I finished in 2:25. Today, I ran this same race again, my goal being 2:10. In addition to the elevation gain, the race starts at noon and today it was 70, which is beautiful, but gets kinda warm when you are running. I beat my goal! This 46-year-old grandma ran that puppy in 2:07:35!! Woo hoo! All that stinkin' training paid off! Thanks for letting me brag. :)
