Do you know the Apostles' Creed by heart?

I grew up Assembly of God. We have attended various types of mainline Protestant churches over the years. I cannot say it from memory.

I am Protestant and cannot say it from memory. I don't believe memorizing something necessarily makes it more meaningful. I can say it by heart along with someone else as it is being said, but if asked to do it on my own I would stumble terribly.

I know both the Nicene and Apostles' by heart. (Okay, I don't mess up when in a service where used, but I might get pieces of them mixed up reciting cold on my own.)

 

Grew up surrounded by Methodists, am a member of a UMC church now. (Where we have never once recited either a far as I can recall.)

I know it pretty well, but I'm going to hear Rich Mullins singing it in my head if I recite it!

 

ETA: I'm a Protestant Christian; I currently don't have a home church, though.

I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school and yes, most certainly did everyone know the apostles and Nicene creed by heart. I'm not longer Christian, but I still know my prayers! :)

Thanks!  . . .  I'm on a twelve-day, heavy dose of steroids to counteract the severe poison ivy that covered my face, crept inside one ear, and was about to invade an eye.  The list of potential side effects from systemic steroids is shocking and, of course, the doctors *forget* to mention them.  People who take steroids deliberately are out-of-their-minds.   

 

((HUGS)) That's miserable.  DH and I both got poison ivy all over our faces the week before our wedding.  We both got shots to hurry and clear it up and I didn't sleep for three days straight.  I was one bright eyed bride!

Another Catholic here. I don't know the ENTIRE Apostles Creed, maybe half? I get it confused with the Nicene Creed, which I do have memorized.

I k ow the Apostles Creed but I had to test myself t find out. Like a few other commenters I know the Nicene Creed much better. Even my first grader can recite the Nicene Creed, though he has some issues pronouncing a few of the bigger words ;)
