mumztheword
Just thought I'd make an introduction, or perhaps it's really an application: I have a Kitchen Aid mixer, though I don't use it as much as I would like. My mother has a Bosch Universal, and I've considered Nutramill but can't seem to bake bread well to save my life. I have a Miele vacuum that rocks. I'm mostly wearing Minnetonka moccasins right now, and Croc flip flops. I have lots of reusable grocery bags and I try really hard to remember to use them. :001_huh: We have lots of bookshelves, some cheap from Target, some cheap from somewhere else and some built in. Dreaming of building in some more along one wall of our family room. And finally, they're OK... a little worse for wear after the pregnant/nursing/pregnant/nursing years. We do have cable (I did watch the HK finale), we traded in the van for a Mini Cooper, and I'm growing tomatoes and weeds. Can I join? I vote that you're in (as long as you don't badmouth Mike's, I think you'll be fine)! Thanks for the laugh, and welcome!

mumztheword
Yes, yes -- I just so happened to make my very own batch of granola just yesterday. Had it for breakfast this morning with some soy milk, quite yummy. I've edited my siggy to help everyone understand where we are in our HSing journey... thanks so much for the incredibly warm welcome -- I can tell I'm going to like it here. Oh! And about the Mike's... while I very respectfully honor the choice to enjoy such a delicious beverage, my drink of choice would some nice vintage from... well, heck, from anywhere really. And bubbles would just be a bonus... makes me giggle. :cheers2:

Hen
I think the only thing left to do are; get a big white-board from home improvement store- also known as a shower board and share what you are reading and give us a horrible mil story, or how great your mil is story... oh, and how do you feel about cochroaches??

But then what do I do with it? I'm reading "Raising Cain" right now. Taking a break from all the HSing books I've been reading to try and convince myself that I need to take my children's educations in my own hands (that's for another post tho'). I'm also making a list from the What are you reading now thread, for our upcoming beach vacation. I don't have a MIL -- she died when my DH was a senior in HS. I do have plenty of horrible Aunt-In-Law stories though, and I'm sure I'll get around to those at Thanksgiving and Christmas, which is about the only time we see them. And not too keen on creepy crawly things, but we're in a violence-free house so I try to locate them to the big outdoors. My DS did come to me this morning, however, to inform me that he "swapped" a fly with his Kung Fu Panda card, but he got some fly goo on his finger so he wiped it on the table. So maybe I think we're non-violent when we really are just ragin' at those smaller than us... Thanks again for the warm welcome. Really. Hen
I'm reading "Raising Cain" right now. Taking a break from all the HSing books is it "Raising Cain and his sister"? - fiction, it was a cute book. -The showerboard is a super cheap way to make a white board if you need one for your homeschool, brought to you by the boards here.... welcome!! Pamela H in Texas
Jen, To quote, simply copy and paste the words you want to quote into your reply, then click the icon that looks like a text bubble for a cartoon on the reply box (near the picture icon, link icon, text change icons, etc).
