Who is the best Bond?

Who is your favorite actor to play Jame Bond? It could be who do you think is the sexist. Who is the best actor? Who has the best accent? Who brings the role to life the best? Which one do you want to rescue you?

 

Whatever makes the best Bond to you. You don't have to like the actor in other roles, just as Bond.

I'll be the odd duck but I loved George Lazenby. He was the most human Bond but still had all the qualities I loved in James Bond.

Sean Connery is my dh's favorite and I like Sean for the timer period he played Bond.

 

Didn't care for Roger Moore as Bond. I've never seen the Lazenby film. Timothy Dalton was okay, Pierce Brosnan was good, but he was like the corporate Bond, suave and cunning.

 

My favorite is Daniel Craig, for so many reasons. I like that they went with a rougher version of Bond. I've seen Casino Royale too many times to count. Ds used to watch the poker scene over and over, he has the dialogue down pat. The second film wasn't as strong, but it still has good parts and feel likes an updated classic bond.

 

I think Craig and Dench have great chemistry. After Vesper's death you can see how he's ready to go off at any time and M recognizes that. In the previous films Bond had the reputation for being hair-triggered, in the Craig films we see him earn that reputation. Craig is more a Bond of action, whereas Brosnan and Connery were men of words.

 

We're huge Bond fans and dh doesn't like Craig in the role. Connery then Brosnan would be his choices. Ds and Dh bond together when they have Bpnd weekends on TV. I can't wait for Skyfall.

I love sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. But for chills down the spine, I have to say Daniel Craig. Apart from being gorgeous, he really brings something different to the Bond role.

I hadn't seen Daniel Craig as Bond until I watched Cowboys Vs. Aliens.

Holy moly but that man in a pair of chaps was heaven!!

Now love him as Bond. :D

Where is the all of the above option? I like them all. They each bring something different to the role that makes me enjoy their portrayal of Bond. I can't pick just one.

I picked Pierce Brosnan but that's mostly because I'm not a big James Bond fan. The 1st one I saw was when dh & I were dating, and Pierce was James. Since then I've see a few other JB movies (with other actors) but they never seem right.

Sean Connery, followed very closely by Daniel Craig. Daniel Craig may end up surpassing Connery. Pierce Brosnan is my third pick. Roger Moore is my Dad's favourite, but I never really liked him because I thought he was playing the role as a parody. I've only seen the Lazenby one once and liked it but not enough to really rank him. Didn't like Timothy Dalton either.

I think I need an 'all of the above' option too (though I've never seen George L. as Bond). As kewb said, they all bring something different & vital to the role. I've enjoyed all of them -- just love the Bond series in general! :001_smile:

Connery first with Craig as a very close second which is weird because Craig doesn't seem like a Bond type - not dark and sophisticated, more Bruce Willis in Die Hard. I think Moore and Connery were the only real Bonds and after that they were just looking for the right person. Lord only knows why they chose Craig, as he is such a departure from the Bond type. But he works and I think he will be Bond for quite awhile.

Connery followed by Brosnan. I like Daniel Craig as an actor, but I don't really care for him as Bond. Bond to me should be ultra-debonair and Craig is just too rough for my tastes.

He's in a kilt in The Avengers. (link to trailer... the best part of the movie) When we actually watched the movie, my husband begged to leave. Later Connery movies are very hit or miss and the misses (like this) are practically unwatchable. Case in point:

I grew up watching Moore as Bond and liked him, but after reading Importance of Being Earnest, I just can't look at Moonraker the same way anymore.

 

I voted for Brosnan, but Connery is a very close second. I enjoyed Dalton, although his second is pretty unwatchable. The very worst movie IMO was The World is Not Enough. Love most of the actors, but almost walked out... could NOT get past Denise Richards.
