mom31257
I would love to make a strawberry-spinach salad. I have both of those, red onions, and almonds. My question is what kind of salad dressing would be good with this? I have a raspberry vinaigrette I've never tried. I have Italian and a sweet vidalia onion that is like a honey mustard flavor a little. I think we have ranch, too. Would any of these work, or is there something I could make that would be better? Thanks in advance for suggestions!
Parrothead
I would do a simple vinegar and oil or just lemon juice.

Lady Florida.
A simple vinaigrette or olive oil and lemon juice would be good. As far as the dressings you have on hand, I think any except the ranch would work.
bagel270
Balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, and sugar is what I use.
KatieJ
I would use a Poppyseed dressing. I have a recipe that does not have sugar or mustard in it. Most of them do. Post if you would like the recipe.

KatieJ
Yes, please share! I was wrong. It does have sugar. Sorry. I guess I cut back on the sugar so in my brain there isn't any. 1/4 Cup White Wine Vinegar 1/4 Cupt Cider Vinegar 1/2 cup oil 2 tsp minced onion 1/2 cup sugar 1 Tbls poppyseeds
plain jane
I make this salad quite a bit, especially for company. :) Here's the recipe I use: Sesame Poppy Seed Dressing: 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup poppy seeds (or less) 1/4 tsp paprika 1/4 cup raspberry cider vinegar 1-1/2 tsp chopped onion 1/4 tsp worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup vegetable oil * The amount of sugar is a bit daunting, but the dressing is incredibly delicious so I try to ignore how much sugar went into it. ;)
Butter
I'd just do balsamic and olive oil.

In the Rain
We use a sweet vinaigrette on our spinach salads. Of the dressings you have, ranch is the one I would not choose.
raceNzanesmom
I prefer a drizzle of poppyseed, oldest ds prefers ranch, youngest ds prefers it plain, dh will eat anything not bolted down. It's yummy will a little grilled chicken on top too. Then I prefer a light oil/vinegar.
mcconnellboys
I always just make it with a simple viniagrette: equal parts water and vinegar and oil, with just a little sugar....
cajunrose
I always make it with Paul Newman's Raspberry vinagerette (for the life of me, I can't spell that nor does spell check pick it up!) YUM...now I'm craving it!!
mom31257
I thought I had poppyseeds, but I didn't. I decided I'm going to try and get some tomorrow and make the salad tomorrow night. I made oven baked vegetables using this recipe, only I added zucchini and yellow squash to the red potatoes and left off the parmesan. It was really yummy! Guest Kimbo417
I've done a poppy-seed dressing salads much like you're describing and it worked well. Easy too! But the dressings you've listed sound like they'd work too?
