ProudGrandma
lunchmeat ham that has been opened longer than the 7 days recommended on the package, but it doesn't smell or look funky? It has been in the fridge the whole time.
butterflymommy
No way, but I'm paranoid about food borne illness and am always more cautious than necessary.
CountitallJoy
If it smells and looks fine, sure!

Holly IN
I wouldn't take a chance. We did that and we got sick. It didn't smell funky or anything. Holly IN

mirth
I wouldn't. As for cooking the lunchmeat further to make it ok, "Some research suggests large doses of Listeria can survive heat treatments of 170°F." http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/fs102
MorganClassicalPrep
Nope. Most lunchmeat starts to get slimy after a couple days. I can't stand even the least bit of sliminess. Usually any lunchmeat that doesn't get eaten within the first 2-3 days gets wasted around here.

Tigger
If it was opened from a package, no. A good brand of deli sliced, yes, IF the deli sliced was just opened when I ordered it (which happens pretty frequently since some deli cold cuts have high turn over) since the deli meats are good for 14-days from first slice.
