  1. I use the free version of dropbox. My husband is always turning our computer shop customers onto it, and when they sign up for an account and use mine as a referral, my space increases. I think you start with 500 MB free. I love it, it's so user friendly! He even set my phone up so that any pics that get taken with my phone go straight to my dropbox account so they're already right there on my computer for me. We use it for all kinds of document storage and sharing.
  2. Truuust me honey, we're happier about this than you are. Bless your heart.
  3. I have nothing against shopping carts, but I'd have to draw the line at hoes in the house... (Sorry, couldn't resist) :leaving:
  4. I have absolutely no experience with adoption and I don't think I caught your original post about this, but *this* post just made me really sad for you and the situation in general. Call me paranoid, but there seems to me to be HUGE red flags all over the birth parents' behavior. I can't believe the agency would advise you to let him go?! (I mean, I believe you, I just think that advice is way off the mark!) "Bring food"? Seriously?? I think you are absolutely right in waiting until you can drive him - no WAY would I put my kid on a plane to go to strangers just because they gave birth to him. Sorry I have no good advice, I just really wanted to give you a virtual hug and send good wishes your way.
  5. Honestly? There are TONS of things to do, but I wouldn't consider any of it inexpensive. Any of the theater tickets are going to run at or near $50 apiece and Ripley's Aquarium tickets are around $25 for adults, $15 for kids aged 3-11. Family Kingdom (amusement park) is $26 for unlimited rides, all ages, or around $1 per ticket with the rides requiring 2 or more tickets each. Paws is right, inexpensive and MB don't go together anymore at all.
  6. I cheated, yes I did, and put them in Google Image Search - still got nothin' :( I will now be thinking about those daggone whatever-they-ares all day! I hope your dd figures it out! :)
  7. Awww ~ baby feets!! Beautiful kids, beautiful pic, beautiful friend. :)
  8. Aww, this IS great news! :hurray: So happy for the both of you :grouphug:
  9. My teenage girls love Just Dance, and it's quite a workout! We all love Super Mario, Wii Sports, and a new family favorite is Pictionary. I like Mortal Kombat, but it's tricky getting used to the nun chucks. I was SO thrilled to get Legend of Zelda, but I ended up returning it because I couldn't figure out how to work the nun chucks :(
  10. I agree! MUCH better for bandwidth than having to quote whole long posts just to say "I agree". (Of which I have been guilty, but I always felt bad doing it :p)
  11. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/brownie-caramel-cheesecake/Detail.aspx?prop31=1 I made this for my husband's birthday this year and it was A-MAzing! I added chopped walnuts on top of the caramel layer (and to the sides, but that didn't work so well when removing the springform pan.) I wanted to make it again for Thanksgiving, but my dd wants to make a pumpkin cheesecake and I'm sure gonna let her! The first link was broken, so I'm redoing it. Hopefully it works, but if not and you're interested, It's the Brownie Caramel Cheesecake from allrecipes.com
  12. THIS is what I was hoping to hear! I have chronic pain and inflammation, and a 6 hour car trip requires nearly a day to recover. Back when I still had insurance and meds, I was able to do a lot more, but now without? And as the only driver? No way :( , especially with only a day between the travel days. I agree with the pp who suggested maybe going when you can stay longer. I realize the importance of family, but I also know what it's like to be in so much pain that you can't even enjoy the time together.
  13. Yea, we were wondering about Carol's grave also... Add me to the "glad Lori's gone" camp ~ she irritated me to no end. I don't like Andrea any better.
  14. We have the same things every year and like it that way :) My whole family lives here and most years we all get together, but not always. When we do, everybody makes & takes whatever they make best. The parade may or not be on the TV, but the Dallas Cowboys will be for sure! Turkey w/ stuffing - gravy Creamed potatoes Sweet potato casserole Corn pudding Squash casserole Collard greens Dixie Lee peas Cranberry sauce - homemade Deviled eggs Rolls Pumpkin pie Apple pie Pecan pie
  15. Yep, that was my guess - after googling, LOL. http://ento.psu.edu/extension/factsheets/boxelder-bug
  16. Me too! Cat, I wish I had your gift for saying what you want to say with genuine kindness. What I've really wanted to say on this thread would most likely get me banned...
  17. Great news! I didn't comment in the other threads, but did say a prayer. You're a good friend, Audrey. :grouphug: For both of you :)
  18. From Chapter 2 of The Politically Incorrect Guide to the South, I offer an end to this sweet grits nonsense once and for all! :D "It is a lucky Southerner who can find grits at all in a Northern restaurant, and an even luckier one if the restaurant knows how to make them from scratch rather than dumping a packet of instant grits into a bowl. Southerners have always found it puzzling and disgusting that Northerners, if faced with grits, will inevitably put sugar on them. Every Southerner knows that the thing to be done with a mound of grits is to form a depression in the center of the mound, drop in two pats of butter so the heat of the grits melts them, liberally add salt and pepper, and then mix in the butter. Southerners also know that cheese and grits is a match made in Southern heaven." ALL IN FUN, ladies, no offense intended! http://www.thepoliticallyincorrectguidetothesouth.com/images/PIGSouthCh2.pdf
