I always LOVE your posts - thank you for taking the trouble with all the links. We already have the American history and maps books (& one of the human body books) in paper copies -- I wish I didn't, because downloadable is so much easier. They are wonderful books -- the projects come together easily and are really appealing.

I'll be checking out the other titles -- just a click away. Bye, bye, budget!

nestof3 - Thank you for sharing this.

How do you like the American Revolution study? Is it thorough or are you using it to supplement something else? I noticed they had a pioneers, colonial, Revolution and Civil War units. Wondering if these together would make a thorough history curriculum? We really like hands on around here!

I'm at piano right now, but I'll get back to you when I get home. :) I have to look in my SOTW binder to see.

Oh, another must is http://teacherexpress.scholastic.com/hands-on-history-american-revolution

I am actually centering my entire American Revolution study around it. It goes through 12 dominoes (the domino effect) signifying 12 different things that led to the revolution.

It is an incredible book with lots of fun printables/paper crafts.

I am coordinating the two books (the one I mentioned before and this one) by integrating the activities from the former with the timeline of events from the one I mention in this post.

The book I recommended before has fabulous literature suggestions and questions to go along with them. It also includes handouts and primary source documents.

Sometimes these books go on sale for $1.00 as well, but I don't know when their next one is.

I downloaded the Civil War one for $1.00 but haven't looked at it yet. I have the other two as well, and they follow a similar format -- book suggestions, questions, primary source documents, etc.

If you like hands-on paper crafts, look into the Easy Make and Learn projects as well. They're fun too.

I am a huge Scholastic fan. :D

But again, if you're not using them right away, hold off and see if the dollar sales come again soon.

Okay! I figured it out. So when you go to your list of downloads in your account, you can right click on the download link and choose "save target as" and then pick where on your computer you want to save it. :) If you left click it, it will open in a browser, but not let you save (or so it seems at least on my computer).

Thanks, Dawn!

I actually picked up a bunch of this stuff at the Dollar Days sale, over the summer. But I don't have the interactive timelines book you posted. I think I may have to pick that up!

I am having a problem getting it to even download. I have 2 books I cannot download.

Are they showing up in your downloads?

There is a help section that may help you.

Also, my Google Chrome automatically downloads into my download folder under my user name. It took me a while to figure out where my downloads go.

Can you give me more info so I can help?

It is not downloading at all. It opens up a window (another tab in my google chrome) and sits there an loads and loads but never actually loads up to download.

I contacted them, but have not heard back yet.

I am trying the save link option now, it is just sitting there not downloading. I will let it sit and see what happens.

Do you have the newest Adobe Reader? It looks different than the last one. You could also right-click on the link and save target without opening it.
