Mom-ninja.
I'm not even going to hide my horror about this. Chinese scientists have cloned cows with human DNA included and are claiming to have cows that produce human breast milk. Mrs Mungo
How could it be identical to the human variety when every woman's milk is unique to her and her baby?
ravinlunachick
"It's good," said worker Jiang Yao. "It's better for you because it's genetically modified." Now there's something you don't hear every day!
unsinkable
OOOOOH! another fun "wonder what's at the end of the link" threads! For those of you who are wondering it's about China genetically modifying cows to produce human breastmilk. I don't know what the comment about Fox news has to do with it?

Hillary in KS
I was thinking it must be untrue or a rumor because I saw it on MSN! http://news.uk.msn.com/world/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=156849955 But, to be fair, it appeared on other news sites, so I didn't think a slam about bias was necessary. :D Telegraph http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/agriculture/geneticmodification/8423536/Genetically-modified-cows-produce-human-milk.html Sky News http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Strange-News/China-Scientists-Engineer-Genetically-Modified-Cows-To-Produce-Human-Breast-Milk/Article/201106116006586
In The Great White North
I think this is where I differ: "It's good," said worker Jiang Yao. "It's better for you because it's genetically modified."

SweetBean
Oh, gross. "It's good," said worker Jiang Yao. "It's better for you because it's genetically modified." I would say just the opposite.

justamouse
WTF? You know, this is the stuff that makes me happy to be American. Their 'testing' and our testing (very flawed though it is) is MUCH different.
Impish
I just threw up in my mouth a bit. If they use them for beef, wouldn't it be a form of cannibalism?

Stacia
You know, this is the stuff that makes me happy to be American. Their 'testing' and our testing (very flawed though it is) is MUCH different. We already have plenty of genetically-modified foods on our shelves & in our crops. My guess? If it makes money, it will definitely be sold (& heavily-pushed, marketed, lobbied) here. You know... a new American cash cow. (Haha -- but, I'm saying that in a a sad, not a funny way....) :001_huh:
LaxMom
How could it be identical to the human variety when every woman's milk is unique to her and her baby? In my mind, cows already produce breastmilk. And it's unique to her and her baby.
