HappyGrace
Need to come up with more to get free shipping from Amazon! Just ordered Girl Meets God from library, and about to get Crazy Love from Amazon based on recommendations from posts here! More in this genre would be great! Thanks! Heather in Neverland
If you haven't read it yet, Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne is my favorite book! It truly changed my life!

ladydusk
Jan Karon's Mitford books. ETA: Ooops ... just saw you said *non* fiction ... I really like Elizabeth George's non-fiction for women (not the mystery writer!) or Susan Hunt. Edited December 28, 2009 by ladydusk
Chris in VA
Beth Moore would be considered a little light by some--easy to read, much to ponder. She's got some good ones out, but a lot of her stuff is informed by the abuse she suffered as a child and the resultant life she lead before she...well, didn't anymore, for lack of a better way to describe it! lol I really like her studies more than her books, but you might like the books. milovany
A couple of my best books from the last year: Thirsting for God in a Land of Shallow Wells by Matthew Gallatin Facing East by Frederica Mathews-Green A Mother's Rule of Life by Holly Pierot (she's Roman Catholic, which I'm not, but the ideas were wonderful)Father Arseny: Priest, Prisoner, Spiritual Father And one I want to read soon: Close to Home by Molly Sabourin
Margo out of lurking
Blue Like Play Dough by Tricia Goyer, the best Christian light NF I read this year. Anything by Max Lucado.
HollyDay
I'm reading 2 Chuck Swindoll's Come Before Winter and Share my Joy Growing Strong in the Seasons of Life another good one by him: An Owners Manual for Christians anything by Nancy Leigh deMoss Emilee Barnes is good and rather light
forty-two
Anything by Gene Edward Veith, but Spirituality of the Cross is my favorite. God at Work: Your Christian Vocation in All of Life is also very good. Grace Upon Grace: Spirituality for Today, by John Kleinig - I got this for my sister, and it's on my wishlist. It's a Veith rec, and I've read several excerpts on Veith's blog.
Word Nerd
I really enjoyed Tricia Goyer's Blue Like Play Dough. It's easily the most encouraging, uplifting book I read all year.
Daisy
I like John Piper's Swans are not Silent series. Not very difficult to read. The books are short (less than 200 pages each) and each feature three famous historical christian figures. Great light intro to church history. I also heartily second the Father Arseny book. I could not put it down! A Mother's Rule transformed my day, and I love the Molly Sabourin podcast so I bet I love the book (it's on my list). We like the same stuff! :) That said, I will recommend you read "The Gurus, the Young Man, and Elder Paisios" (another page turner) and " Bread & Water, Wine & Oil: An Orthodox Christian Experience of God" by Fr. Melitos Weber. These are the best "light reading" I have done lately.. . my other reading has been a bit deeper. I am reading like a starving person, and am thinking of taking a little break to let it all soak in :).

mrsrevmeg
C J Mahaney's Worldliness. It is a hart-hitting book (I went and changed my Netflix queue after reading {and the only things in it were G, PG, and PG-13}), but an easy read. Great book!!! It really makes you think about the choices make.
Carol in Cal.
God at Work: Your Christian Vocation in All of Life is also very good. This one is just great.
