Chris in VA
You know, those bre@st bud thingies! Just the areola and nipple and a tiny bit of the skin. So...it's not enough for a bra, but it's slightly noticeable under a tee shirt--should we be using undershirts? Any particular recommendations for something soft but "shielding?" BTW, Dh was...stunned. When I told him. He's so not ready for another woman in the house! lol
StephanieZ
At Walmart and Target they sell Fruit of the Loom "bras" near the girls underwear packages. They are pull over, sport-bra style "bras" and are just what is needed. Cute colors, easy wash, comfy, modest. Cheap, too.
Chris in VA
I'll take a look. She just seems young for a true bra, even the sport type!
Starr
My dd wore an undershirt in the"poker" stage.
Denisemomof4
my daughter, who will turn 10 in two weeks, would be green with envy if she read this. She wants to grow SO bad!!!

littlebug42
I feel your pain. We are currently experiencing this with DD8. She is more in favor of undershirts as she claims the "bras" are too itchy, uncomfortable etc. It is only really noticeable in certain shirts particularly knit ones. My dh is in denial. AngieW in Texas
My two older girls used the sports bras in the girl's underwear section at Target when they were at that stage. My youngest didn't like the way those felt. She likes the sports bras at Justice better.
dangermom
My 9yo daughter just now told me that she thinks she's growing. Sure enough, she's got a tiny bit of padding there. :001_huh: It's really not enough for those sport bras yet, but I will be keeping an eye on it and getting some soon! I did not expect this yet; she hasn't got hardly any body fat. She's tall and solid, though.
Sara R
We got some stretchy spandex undershirts from Target for dd. They fit like the top of a bathing suit--tight, but comfortable. She was adamant about not wanting a bra, but she needed something, and this provides enough support for now.

My DD8 already wears these the last couple of years - just to be like her big sisters and mom. Now, in the last couple of months, she actually needs them and I'm glad she likes wearing them! Melissa in Australia
I am a big fan of lined dresses at this stage, and not t-shirts. then it isn't so noticeable . t-shirts seem to draw attention to any bumps
Veritaserum
A couple of months ago I had dd9.5 pick out some preteen bras. She thought that was really exciting. :)
SeekingSimplicity
We just went thru this with my 9 yo. We got her some camis and sports bras to try out. She prefers the sports bras because it's not as hot as wearing to 2 layers of shirts.
gingersmom
My daughter is still wearing her "sport type" bras from Limited Too (now called Justice). Kohls and Target and Sears also sell the same type "bras".
