  1. I don't think I have an actual fever but I should check. My face gets so hot and my brain feels squeezed if that makes sense. Once I get over the stress, have a cold drink, etc. it goes away. But I overreact to everything now - it's terrible and I need to get some help because I can't function.
  2. I've always been an anxious person but it's gotten much worse in the past few months and I'm wondering if it has to do with the concussion I got 6 months ago. When I get stressed now my face feels SO hot. I don't know if it's from anxiety or from the concussion (too much brain activity?). I was wondering if others have this problem. It's really uncomfortable.
  3. This was a year ago so I don't know if things have changed since then but she had to have proof of vaccination in order to go to the rehab facility. There was someone at the hospital who absolutely did not want MIL to go to rehab for some reason. She fought it from the beginning and obviously won at the last minute. I was able to get MIL's surgeon to approve one more night in the hospital while we scrambled to get things ready for her to go home - we fully expected her to go to rehab up until then. It was awful but I'm sure this rarely happens (or maybe we're the only lucky ones). I have no doubt that your dad will not be coming home anytime soon.
  4. What a relief, @DawnM Hope it all works out and that he handles the transition well when it's time. We had this happen with MIL and it fell through the day she was being discharged when they told us she was going home instead of rehab. Even that morning, DH had to go to her house to get her Covid vaccination card to show the rehab place she was vaccinated and then...nope. We were completely unprepared for her to go home. It was awful but I think this is HIGHLY unusual.
  5. That's exactly right! It's really horrible for students in this position. Especially if they are seeing their classes fill up while waiting to get a response from their advisor.
  6. This may not work but I really like this. Thank you.
  7. I'm so sorry Dawn. I wish I had something better to day. Sending hugs. 😞
  8. I'm so sorry you were hurt by this. It's absolutely horrifying. Friends of a friend got very sick also with liver issues and also know people who needed gall bladders removed. Hope you are doing okay. 😞
  9. Thank you for the update. Sounds awful for him but at least he's still alive.
  10. That's really scary. I'd be very concerned too. I hope he's okay. Please update when you can.
  11. yes, my kids are almost 20-31 and we still have ours. DH saves everything for the grandkids that we don't have yet. It's a bit much to say the least.
  12. I also vote to keep it for all the reasons above. 🙂
  13. @Mrs TiggywinkleI'm so sorry! That is terrible. 😞 I get extremely lightheaded when standing up at times and I'm afraid of passing out but it hasn't happened. I can't imagine being as bad as you are. I hope this can be fixed and soon.
  14. I want to live in DQ country. I want to work at their headquarters and eat DQ all day every day. I love DQ so much! Haven't tried Cotton Candy - I'm a chocoholic so always go for the chocolate ice cream with chocolate and/or Reese's mix-ins. Soooo good. And I'm very sad about the lack of large blizzards - I think ours might be the only store in the country that doesn't have them! They have large shakes, sundaes, cones...but no blizzards. Never ever way too much! DH will sometimes complain about too many mix-ins and I laugh at him. I like mine with all candy/chocolate with just enough ice cream to hold it all together. 🙂
  15. I'd check with the Sonic you went to or fill out their contact form on the website. It may have just been the employee making the blast doesn't put as much stuff in as they should. We've had that with Dairy Queen Blizzards - usually they are perfect but sometimes there are no mix-ins on the top or bottom or whatever. We don't have Sonic here but I assume the blast is the same. We rarely eat out so I wouldn't notice any other cuts. The only thing I hate is that our Dairy Queen stopped offering Large Blizzards when Covid hit. I don't know why. Medium is better for me since I definitely don't need the extra calories but I sure do miss my larges. DH thinks that they can't make enough profit off the larges? I don't know...I don't know of any other DQs that don't serve large Blizzards. Maybe we should move closer to another DQ - lol!
  16. I hope it all goes as smoothly as possible and I'm also very sorry about it all. You've been through so much and it seems like there's never a break. I hope this helps once it's all over and done with. Sending hugs.
  17. I'm so glad he's feeling better and hope you can both get some rest. Thank you for the update.
  18. Same. It's agonizing watching your child suffer. Hope he gets some relief very soon. I'm very sorry.
  19. I didn't know whether to click laugh, like, or confused - I'm feeling all three! Funny but sorry you don't have your candy!
  20. If you did, it wouldn't surprise me a bit. ❤️
  21. This was posted today about the advisors for dd's major at her university because current students haven't been getting responses from their advisors for weeks: They are severely understaffed (about nine academic advisors for about 6,700 undergraduate students) and are currently focusing on incoming students and orientation.
  22. I can't cook like that at all - would give me an anxiety attack. Great job.
  23. Wow, it was much longer ago than I thought. December 5, 1999. Toys for the kids: Pokemon Squirtle #52 Meowth w/ Electronic Voice Figure Toy Story 2 Lights and Sounds Action Figure: Evil Emperor Zurg Pokemon Electronic Figure: Pikachu #25 Tyco R/C 6.0V Jet Turbo NiCd Battery Pack & Charger
  24. Most schools will have all of the requirements for the degree on their website. Some will even have a four year sample breakdown or flow chart. Some things to be careful with are to make sure you keep an eye on prerequisites and also to make sure the courses are offered in the semester your student will take them. For example, if your student plans on taking a specific course in spring but it's only offered in fall - you don't want to find that out too late. Once your student is admitted and has classes (either through transfer credits from AP or DE or once they've been enrolled and taken classes), they should be able to run a degree audit from their student account - that should clearly show what classes they've completed and which are still needed to graduate.
  25. they could try reddit and ask there. Or join a facebook group. I moderate a parent group for the college my dd attends and there are so many complaints about advising. ETA - maybe college confidential? I haven't been to that forum in years.
