  1. I was listening to this song and you were so strong in my mind all the while I was listening to it. I wanted to share it with you. I thought about just PM'ing it to you, but thought it better to share it with everyone so they can be blessed too. Hope you are having a great day darling. :grouphug: xoxoxoxo :grouphug::grouphug: Jen
  2. Oh I am so sad and sorry to hear this news. I'm so sorry for your poor dd. :( Praying here. :grouphug: :grouphug:
  3. We have Heidi and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde from the series and dd (soon to be 14) still reads them. She's read Heidi about 10-15 times and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde several times as well. :)
  4. Oh believe me I do. It's horrible what he did here in St. Augustine! He's was a villain, but I was talking a little further back actually. The first King of Asturias' reign began in 718! ;) :) LOL Black Adder! hehehe:lol:
  5. I have large pores too. I've tried so many products, it's not even funny. The only things that have really helped *me* (mind everybody's skin reacts differently to products) is Philosophy's Help Me. It really makes a big difference in my skin when I use it. When I'm lazy and skip it I can see a difference right away. I only use it at night before my moisturizer. During the day I use Estee Lauder's Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher. I put that on after washing my face (I use Pevonia Botanica Clarigel Exfoliating Cleanser) and before my moisturizer (I just use Aveeno daily brightening moisturizer). I like the Estee Lauder. I've been using it for about a year and a half and it definitely controls the oil and makes my pores less visible (for a few hours after applying), but I'm still not certain that it is worth the cost. It's just so expensive. I've heard good things about Clinique's Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum (Geez, why do all these products have to have such long titles?? ) and will probably try that one when I run out of the Estee Lauder, but the Help Me I will buy always! It's awesome! I think using a good cleanser (the Pevonia one is oil controlling and pore tightening as well), using mud masques and exfoliating every week and moisturizing day and night is going to go a long way to keep your oil in check. The Estee Lauder definitely controls the oil. I used to have oily skin and it has made my skin normal, but the pore shrinking only lasts a few hours unfortunately. :( The Help Me definitely makes my pores smaller and it lasts all day long. It might make you a little oiler or even have a small breakout right at the start of using it as I think your skin adjusts to the product and for me, I got a little oiler while it kinda cleared my pores out, but once my skin adjusted (about 5 days using the product every night) it really made my skin look so much better. If you wear makeup too, I'd suggest getting a good face primer. Those will help control the oil and minimize your pores also. Benefit also has a product called The Porefessional that you can use either before or after you put on your makeup and it minimizes pores. Sorry this is so long. I hope it is helpful though. :)
  6.:lol::lol::lol: Hey! I'm supposedly descended from the first king of Spain. So why am I so broke???!! :glare::tongue_smilie::lol:
  7. Your bangs look nice!! I like them like that when they are on just one side. :) I say keep 'em. They suit you. :)
  8. I would be livid as well. Definitely say something to the youth pastor and maybe cc the pastor he reports to as well. That is definitely not okay. :grouphug: :grouphug: Hugs to your dd's and you.
  9. I wonder how many will return on Monday?? Maybe it might be worth trying to go up then?
  10. My son gets to be an "apprentice!" That's great!!! :hurray: I hope he does well and The Donald doesn't "fire" him! :)
  11. That's interesting. My husband is from the Caribbean and his is mixed race... not all black, not all Indian, not all white he's just a healthy mix of the three and not all just one thing. His mother used to refer to that as "people of color" (in Spanish) as someone like them who were basically not white skinned. My husband too when he talks about anyone who is some shade of brown to black (not white) he refers to them as "un mi color" "someone my color". I guess it caught on in the Dominican Republic anyway. :)
  12. What was in the envelope?? A home school catalogue perhaps? :p
  13. I think the prevailing wisdom is that a light fringe of wispy bangs and hair with some subtle highlights framing the face is the look that is supposed to make aging skin look more youthful and soften the lines on the face and around the eyes. But I think ultimately, you live with yourself and you should do what makes you happy. I am turning 40 this year and my hair is long, straight and black with no bangs. DEFINITELY against "the rules", but ask me if I care.
  14. Oh wow! I was just looking how I could watch it online since none of the local stations were showing it and I just saw that the launch was called off and postponed until Monday. http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/2011/0429/Kennedy-Space-Center-Space-shuttle-launch-scrubbed-until-Monday
  15. Awwww Aubrey!! What wonderful news! I am rejoicing with you! My heartiest congratulations! :grouphug:  :hurray: And thanks to you Scarlett for outing her! :p ;)
  16. I have lots of friends who are from the Caribbean and know several Haitians and Jamaicans. The Haitians I know call themselves Haitian-American and the Jamaicans call themselves Jamericans. :)
