  1. And emotion is a bad thing how? A part of one of the most sensitive and personal parts of one's body is being removed. It is what it is. *shrug* Um, no. I'm sorry, but this is not fact. And I would hope that no one is depending on being circumcised to protect themselves from STDs. That is just playing with fire. Regardless of circ. status, men should have enough knowledge to use other means of protection.
  2. What do you think it was like for the baby? Just my .02, but if you (general you) or your dh are so adamant on having your child circumcised, at least be there to comfort your child.
  3. :iagree: with all of the above. We have read the 1st one and the 2nd or 3rd one. My ds liked the 1st one alot, but didn't seem as interested in the other as much. (And to Pippen, I would have absolutely loved to have a boxcar like you described as a kid! :001_wub:)
  4. :iagree: Well, Joanne, you saved me some time, and said it better than I would have.
  5. I have a few questions on these. Hopefully someone will have some good advice/words of wisdom. :) If I start out with MEP and then switch to RightStart will it be too much of a drastic change that may confuse ds? Are they pretty different? Would I be better off just combining MEP and Singapore instead? It would certainly be more cost effective! ;) I really like the look of MEP, but I have heard alot of people say they don't use it as a stand alone curriculum and often supplement it. So, talk to me. Would you go with RightStart exclusively, or do a combo of MEP/something else? If you chose the MEP/something else, please elaborate, if you don't mind. :o

The waitresses aren't exactly topless, and they don't exactly come to your table and start stripping themselves of their clothing, so I fail to see the problem or concern here.
  7. I honestly wouldn't be upset. We are talking about 18 yr olds, correct? Heck, I take my 2 kids to Hooters. The food is good, the prices are right, it's all good. ;) So, why are so many people opposed to this coach taking essentially grown men there? Is it the waitresses, the beer, what?
  8. If he is reading then I would just give him a little breather. Try letting him read from beginning readers of his choice for a few weeks without a phonics program, perhaps? Maybe he is just overwhelmed and a little break might be all he needs. After a week or so you could introduce a new phonics instruction that he may enjoy and benefit more from. :)
  9. So you basically are saying you have to prove you are "powerful" and in control by hitting them? :001_huh:
  10. I am waiting for our WWE level 1 textbook and now I am starting to wonder if I should order the student workbook as well. Does it make my job easier? Can someone give me a summary of using WWE with and without the workbook? Pretty please? :o
  11. I saw this as well in their catalog. I am really tempted to order it. The price seems very reasonable for everything you get with it. Hopefully someone who is using it will chime in here. :)
  12. Oh wow....And I thought ds hiding his boogies on my bed was bad. I think if it was some sort of a contest, that would win the Grand Prize. ;)
  13. Playmobil is great! My oldest is almost 7 and is already planning to make a list of the sets he wants next year. This year he got the Roman arena and a castle.
  14. It's always a feeling of great relief when you are finally done with that very last present, isn't it? :D I'm literally shoving my kids and dh out the door so that I can start wrapping. Right now the 5 year old is arguing with dh over shoes. Hopefully I will get it done sometime today. :toetap05:
  15. I kinda sorta want to see a pic of said pigs head sitting on the shelf of the fridge. I know I can't be the only one, right? Right?
  16. You would make her do all that for saying "butthole". Why? No snark, I honestly just don't understand how saying "butthole" is that bad.
  17. That's it? Really? Honestly, if that's the worst she said, I would totally ignore it. I probably would have laughed, too, but that's neither here nor there. :o
  18. My ds recently told me when asked if he needed a tissue- "I will just wipe it on your bed like I always do."
  19. Both my boys have a ds lite and they love them. There are actually some educational games for the ds, though I don't know the age ranges for them. Personally, I would say go for the ds.
  20. Trained? Kind of the way people train a dog by only putting food in it's dish 2 times a day? How do you train a child to ignore hunger? Generally my kids only "whine for food" when they are hungry, so it seems kind of mean to tell them to ignore their hunger because dinner is at 6 and it's only 4, yk?
