  1. :iagree: And I can honestly say that if I found out that a child care provider did that to one of my children, *regardless* of their behaviour, it would be reported. And I would not be a very happy camper! :glare:
  2. We will be using an umbrella school. My oldest just turned 6, so I am going to register him with an umbrella school this summer. We're going with Florida Unschoolers. They are free, and you only have to turn in attendance. And you don't have to be an unschooler, either. http://www.freewebs.com/floridaunschoolers/index.htm :001_smile:
  3. I'm snickering quietly so I don't wake up my 4 year old over here.
  4. I do the same thing. Usually I can't even hide the laughter, though. Sometimes they start laughing with me, and other times it makes the situation worse. :o
  5. If you have a Big Lots near you they have lots of name brand hygeine products really cheap.
  6. I agree, OP. I have bought the Skippy Natural in an attempt to save money. My kids don't eat that much peanut butter, though, so a jar of PB lasts us a while. I love it on pretzels. Try Maranatha Organic no-stir. It tastes so much better, too.
  7. Well, I am in FL. Whew! You gals are fast! Glad to know it's not going to make him sick. I grew up hearing that frogs would make me sick if I touched them. Maybe my grandma just didn't want to be near frogs and stretched the truth a bit. ;) Thanks, ladies!
  8. Hopefully someone can answer this soon! I tried googling but it mostly comes up regarding toads and pets. Ds caught a toad this evening in the yard. He held it for a few minutes, then we put it in a jar. I put hand sanitizer on his hands, then made him wash with soap and water. Tell me he's not going to get sick from the toad? Almost everything I googled said they are toxic to pets, and that they *can* make people sick if the poison from their skin is ingested. :001_huh: Wouldn't it penetrate the skin as well? Help?
  9. I am only laughing because my ds,6, lost his very 1st tooth a few weeks ago eating chicken as well! He called for me to see what was stuck between his teeth, when I saw that there was a little gap. I started looking *everywhere* around where he was eating, even looking in his dinner. We never found it, and he is still alive and well. ;) I was kind of sad, though, because I really wanted to save his 1st tooth.
  10. Those are awesome! Gah, I wish I knew how to knit! :tongue_smilie:
  11. That about sums up my afternoon, too. Unless we are going somewhere in the afternoons or have an all day excursion, I plant my rear on a chair and say to heck with everything else for at least an hour.
  12. Nope. And we have no plans to. If my kids decide as adults entering college to do so, then it will be their choice. I guess I won't have a say if they are 18.
  13. What everyone else said. I just bake them plain then the kids dip them in whatever they choose. It usually has baking times on the bag they come in. Lately I've just been nuking them in the microwave, though. :blushing:
  14. I always put frozen nuggets in the oven. I've never fried them. I sometimes microwave them too, but they come out much better in the oven.
  15. They sure do advocate it quite a bit on their site, though.
  16. I didn't know that! Yikes! So any site that has Active X videos, even kid's game sites and things like that could have a virus/worm/trojan in them? And you don't have to download anything to get it?
  17. Depends on the type of bird. A parakeet? Not so much, imo. A larger bird such as an African Grey, or a cockatoo is quite easy to develop a bond with. Personally, if I had more time to devote, and older kids, I would own a Moluccan cockatoo or a grey over a dog or cat any day. Many are actually cuddly, as in they will lie on their backs in your hand and let you fluff their tummy feathers. :D Lots of work to owning a larger bird, but if a person has the time and inclination to do so, they are amazing creatures.
  18. :iagree: And calling people who like scary movies degenerates is a bit much.
