  1. Well, I don’t have immediate advice about living in the city as most people I knew commuted. But, financially it is at least a mistake and likely going to be impossible to move first and then find a job. This applies to almost everywhere and especially expensive places like the mid Atlantic. Landlords probably won’t rent to someone without a job. I’m sure you’ve advised him of this common knowledge, similar to don’t quit your job before you have a new one. I also think most entry level workers are commuting as well, because of expenses.
  2. I was wondering if starting a bible curriculum with CLE in fifth grade (with not much formal bible study in the past) is ok? I don’t know if they presume prior knowledge. Also, does anyone know if it’s character/moral study or just biblical events?
  3. Big arch, pull down handle, and higher flow option for filling big pots. I did not want: motion or battery needed. I do not want another thing needing regular maintenance, even something easy like batteries. And I read about a lot of plumbers being called to fix motion things.
  4. A/c? Heater? My guess is pipe related.
  5. As PP stated, the majority of hives are unexplained. If they recur (future episodes), you can try to play detective. Some people see an allergist for skin testing to make sure it’s not something you can easily avoid. Hives on the face need to be carefully treated, sometimes with steroids, because of breathing risks.
  6. (Hugs) I hope you have no prolonged injuries. Many people have pain later on, so continue to document. You should go to the doctor just for documentation, but frequently for accident purposes, the insurance may send you to their doctors.
  7. I agree that it depends on your dishwasher. Mine can’t handle dried egg and sometimes the rice cooker. And tomato sauce gets all over everything so I try to rinse that off if it’s not dried on. Its unlikely you’ll change other people’s habits so if your dishes are clean I’d not bother trying to change routines. YMMV.
  8. For cleaning- a slob comes clean or clutterbug. I’ll second Happier as well. Super wide range of topics and most helpful. Her audiobook (better than before) is hours of habit motivation and tips, but the digital or physical book may be easier for note taking. For health and nutrition: nutrition facts podcast.
  9. Thanks for the heads up!
  10. Eta- I assume the whole process of eBay is frustrating so I’ve never tried. But hugs for having to put up with it.
  11. I think everyone’s price point to sell on eBay is different. You need to decide for yourself (after expenses), what yours is. Is a $2 profit ok? Is $10 ok? Is it x percent of your costs ok? Almost nothing is worth me selling on eBay. But, we are drowning in clutter and my goal is asap so I can function better day to day. I am saddened by a loss of potential income, but I’m more frustrated to have a dysfunctional home. Donating, to me, also helps me avoid the mental “better deal” mentality. I already know I’m not recouping costs, plus now I don’t have to calculate exactly how much I could’ve made if it sells for a certain price vs a different price.
  12. A slob comes clean can be more manageable.
  13. Usually the mini pill (low dose progesterone) can help with heavy bleeding. A Whole Food plant based diet is also associated with less menstrual bleeding. I have had my heavy days decrease from five to 1 after just becoming vegetarian for a month. https://nutritionfacts.org/video/the-best-diet-for-fibroids/ eta- this video is fibroid specific, common in women with heavy periods, but for other causes of heavy periods a whole food plant based diet can help.
  14. Sounds Sensory plus ADHD, depending on other social clues. eta- plus gifted.
  15. I felt the show should have been real time, to give me a more realistic idea of how much work it was. 🙂 Five weeks condensed into an hour makes me think it’s so easy!
  16. Thanks for inspiring me to learn something new today and look up shrine maiden. 🙂
  17. Wow, that seems hard. I’m not there yet, so I can only think of questions you may want to go through as you’re thinking about this: -though the school is good, is it academically good for them (are they being challenged and growing academically?) - their future goals/career/aspirations - their ability (or lack) to pursue music while at school or as an extracurricular - your ability to provide similar academics for them - the extent of frustration they are experiencing Re: drama - eta... ability to change status and consequences for graduation, college, scholarships, etc. High school seems to be the trickiest age for different states and what may be “allowed”.
  18. It was a fun series and a distraction. I have to agree with A Slob Comes Clean, in that triyng that method, unless I have whole chunks of time, is too overwhelming for me to use practically. I can do it for a small subcategory, but not a whole category at once. I do love her tips and general sense and advice about thinking about things. Doing smaller areas at once is better for me and focusing on visibility and practicality first. Idk, I mash all sorts of ideas together. I can’t wait for Gretchen Rubin’s new decluttering book in March 🙂
  19. Thanks, all. I feel better as I was able to see Mom today! She’s ok (awake, alert), but not able to do much because of her illness, a new for her problem, with a sudden decline in her health in just a few months. I really appreciate all the prayers and good hugs. Thank you.
  20. Thank you. I got a couple hours sleep and I’m anxious for today.
  21. Hugs. I hope the new tutor meshes well!
  22. Thank you all! I always feel better with others helping. I’m more isolated than I should be with community. I know she and my dad are struggling and must be scared and upset. Plus, life is still happening.
