  1. Well my ds10, ADD per the health care profession, had his tonsils and adnoids removed by age 3 and I give him fish oil. The fish oil may or may not help, the jury (mom) can't decide. I have an appointment in April with a pediatric neurologist so that we can try medicine.
  2. I said Return of the Jedi over The Empire Strikes Back because I like the furry little ewoks and the happy ending. The Empire Strikes Back is probably the better of the two. With three boys and a dh in the house the movies are playing regularly around here.
  3. Sounds like you all had a great time and were able to escape the snow!!! I can't wait to go with my kids.
  4. Congratulations!! Please post pictures once your able to finish up those doors!! Was it your husband that made those cool pull out pantry shelves?
  5. My husband did our kitchen floor and once he figured it out, everything went smoothly. Our neighbor lady next door, mid 50's, started to do her own floor then ended up hiring someone. Good Luck if you decide to do it yourself.
  6. Our insurrance changed everyones ID from their SS#'s to random numbers. I try not to give out those numbers anymore unless absolutely neccessary.
  7. Congratulations!!! I pray that the adjustments in your family and in these 2 children's lives will go smoothly.
  8. We have a Sunday morning special of scrambled eggs and cinamon rolls (Pilsbury type). My kids look forward to Sunday mornings!
  9. I seem to need between 8 and 9 hours of sleep. I used to feel tired allllll the time regardless of how many hours that I slept until I started taking vitamins. When I take them I have more energy and when I don't remember I can tell. I may also have some other sleep problems as my dh says that I snore loudly. :blushing:
  10. My boys just asked me the other day if babies come out of my butt hole. I didn't use correct terms at all but rather said that God made three holes - one for pee pee, one for poo, and one for babies. Boys, of course, only have 2 holes. It wasn't an elegant conversation but that is all that they really wanted to know. They were concerned for the baby with all that poo.
  11. How sweet! They are all so cute your real children and the new goat ones! :)
  12. Yeah!!! I'm so glad that she made it home!!!!
  13. We went car shopping today and I think that I convinced him to fix our car that was in an accident for $1800 instead of buying a van for $6000 that isn't really what we want. I'd rather wait and save to buy something good then buy something now that is okay but not great.
  14. My very social 8 yods has wanted to go to "real" school for a long time now. The problem is that he is technically 2nd grade age but doing 3rd grade work but not where the 3rd graders are at by this time in the year. He'd be bored with his age but behind, a bit, of the next grade up. Also I don't want him to go!!! :)
  15. In my linguistics class in college, they said that a child, although I think they were talking about a baby/toddler, could learn up to 3 languages at a time without confusing them. I'd do both at once and see how it works. Young children learn languages so much quicker and easier then us adults.
  16. I have a good friend who started cursive her boys in kindergarten. They both have nice writing, compared to mine, and it was fun for them.
  17. I love waffles!!! Yum, yum. When are you going to make your first batch?
  18. After tonight, I feel like I know these two families. They really opened their hearts and you saw the hope, hurt, and love that they experienced. I wonder what God has and had planned through all this. They definately showed God's love and grace to everyone around them. My practical side wants to know who paid for all of the mistakes. First burial, exhumation, time away from job as they sat next to "Laura". I guess that I worry about all that because I know that we are so tight that I'd worry about how we would pay for it all. :001_unsure:
  19. I'm sorry!!! I hope that you find him soon! :(
  20. Very cute. Sounds like your family had a great time!
  21. Yep, delivery charge and tip are expected around here to have a pizza delivered.
  22. I will agree with everyone that financially it doesn't make sense to take the money out of retirement but if there was really no other way - - you can't borrow or rent one -- then I might do it. Why? Because family time with dh is more important then the money. If you were talking about using a very large amount or all of it, I would say, No way! But using a little to build family relationships and memories is priceless. The kids do grow quickly and then they will be gone. All that being said, I would work really hard to rent or borrow a camper!!!
  23. These two families and their daughters are really special. I think that I feel semi-close to this story because we don't live all that far away from where it happened and because my best friend attended Taylor and I visited her a couple of times. Tonight the story will be on Dateline - 8:00 central.
  24. Very adorable!!!! I bet you fell deeper in love with him when you saw that face!
