Unfortunately, this post is pretty accurate albeit a bit rough around the edges. It really depends on the type of job you are looking for, though. If you want to work at Starbucks or a retail job, etc., you really won't need a resume and in the application you could put "home educator". If you are applying for, say, a secretarial job in a small office it might be ok to put it on the resume. But most larger companies will not care or be impressed by it. And trying to make it sound fancy doesn't fool them any more than "sanitation engineer" does for "janitor". In addition, so many people are anti-homeschooling that you may be eliminated before you even get an interview. I am NOT trying to be mean, just truthful. I interview people all the time so I see lots of resumes. No one does or should put "stay at home mom" on their resume if they want to get a job. Any interviewer worth their salt will ask you about "gaps" in your employment history and that would be the time for you to mention that you stepped out of the workforce for X amount of years to raise your children and homeschool them. But it doesn't belong on a resume. One place that would be appropriate to mention it is the cover letter in your description of yourself. You can pull it off better in a narrative than you can in trying to list parenting skills in fancy terms on the actual resume. best of luck with your job search! .

:iagree::iagree::iagree: I have been here for 9 years and I have had threads where people gave me loads of support and I have had threads where I was absolutely slammed. I am pretty conservative both politically and religiously and there have been times where I felt like the majority and there have been times where I felt like I was one of the few left here. It happens or will happen to all of us. Her post was over the top and honestly made her seem very childish. .

Jury Selection--SOS!
Heather in Neverland replied to Georgiana Daniels's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Isn't there anyone at all that can babysit for you? Relative? Neighbor? Friend? Church member? Anyone? I firmly believe that jury duty is just that .... A duty. It is one of the many things that Americans take for granted but should be grateful that they have... The right to a trial by a jury of your peers. Not every country is so lucky. And we should do it unless it is absolutely, utterly impossible. I don't personally believe gymnastics and chess are a good reason to skip out on it. -

Chicken and rice dish?
Heather in Neverland replied to Night Elf's topic in General Education Discussion Board
How we do it: Boil and shred 4 chicken breasts. Cook a pot of rice. In a big bowl combine: Cooked rice Shredded chicken 2 cans cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup 1 can of sliced mushrooms Chopped broccoli Chopped carrots Diced onion Spread into a glass casserole dish. Cover with shredded cheddar. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. We like things spicy so we often add chopped red and green chili peppers, too. :D -

The clothes management poll
Heather in Neverland replied to Laura Corin's topic in General Education Discussion Board
We used to when we lived in the states but it is SO HOT here and everyone sweats so much that you HAVE to wash everything after wearing it once. It definitely wears your clothes out faster. -

The clothes management poll
Heather in Neverland replied to Laura Corin's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Just me? Does it include undergarments? If yes, then about 2 weeks. Then I would be out of panties. :tongue_smilie: If not, then I could go about two months. I have a lot of clothes! If this includes my whole family, then I could go about one week because the males in my house could care less about clothes and have about a week's worth. -
Trolls and Real People
Heather in Neverland replied to 5 Hikers's topic in General Education Discussion Board
While I have started a few controversial threads over the years which I suppose is troll-like behavior, no troll worth their salt would post incessantly about her daughter's immigration woes for two long years. Trolls are more creative than that. I am far too pathetic to be a troll. :tongue_smilie: -
