We put berber style carpet in the basement of our previous home and plan to do the same in our new home. I can't believe how well it wears - we just moved out and it still looks great after 8 years. I've never even had it cleaned, just vacuumed here and there.

I use powdered Cascade, mainly because I don't like dealing with the liquid. Our new dishwasher is a Kenmore. It's not a high-end model, about middle of the road. Not perfect, but definitely does a better job than my old Hotpoint.

I've found two things make a difference - your dishwasher, and the detergent. You definitely get what you pay for with detergent. I have just stuck with Cascade, which seems to work best. Your dishwasher will make a huge difference. The dishwasher at our old house (lower end model, about 10 years old) is just like you described. If I didn't rinse off everything, there would be little pieces of crud on the dishes. Yuck. My new dishwasher is completely different, although I still do rinse some dishes (old habits die hard). :rolleyes:

I've used Ancient China...To the Great Wall and Beyond. It's an excellent study. It's written for K-6, but it has a supplement for using with Gr. 7-12.

What kind of search have you done thus far? I think the best way to find old threads is through a google search.

We have the Google search box in the tool bar, and it appears to me that it is only cleared manually. It definitely doesn't clear with the browsing history. Our browsing history clears every 10 days, the search bar has terms that I know were searched for months ago.

Well, bummer. I was able to find some samples a while back (creative searching), but I can't find them now. I did print them out, so I know somewhere in my office! I think I'll e-mail and ask if/when they can put up samples of Meaningful Composition.
