  1. I wish I knew. I get them frequently, in fact I have one on the side of my tongue right now that makes eating and drinking painful. I usually just have to wait it out.
  2. I like our current toothpaste, but now I want to try Tom's strawberry just to see what the fuss is all about! lol
  3. It just comes down to being determined to put them on the schedule you want. Some babies (and in my experience it is rare) will fight you tooth and nail, but most will slide themselves right into your routine. I mean, when babies are ill, or otherwise should need extra sleep, I had no problem with letting them have extra sleep, but otherwise any baby I had only took a week or two to get onto the same schedule as the others. Don't get me wrong, b/c when it comes down to it, and when it is more of a one on one (no other children involved) schedule I had no problem with the baby determining their own schedule. I did feel that most babies did better with a routine. :)
  4. I'm so sorry!! :( I have Addison's Disease, and our dog's name is Kody! How weird! <3 I don't have any advice as far as what to do to remember your dog, but I can guarantee that your girls will remember him forever. :) Sorry to hear about your loss. ((hugs))
  5. I voted 10-20 miles b/c we are moving back to our hometown and that is the distance between where we will live our our church, but our current church is 25 miles, and is about 35 minutes away.
  6. I have worked in childcare for upwards of 20 years, and I have taken TONS of pictures of children I have cared for with my personal camera or phone...BUT, I will not share those pictures with the public, period. I'm weird like that, though. Even on Pinterest, I will not repin a picture that has a child in it. While working in childcare, I have taken a ton of picture of the kids I have cared for, just for me to look at so that I can remember that child and my experience at the time, but I would never share them.
  7. I worked in daycare with young babies for 14 years. I could usually get most babies onto a pretty good schedule fairly quickly. I would feed them at 8:00, nap for 1 hour at 9:00, then lunch at 11:00, nap between 12 and 12:30, sleep until 3-3:30 (3 hours usually), then snack when they woke, then they went home after that. I kept them all on a pretty strict schedule, b/c it was chaos otherwise. I was the master of getting any baby, in any daycare center, on the same schedule. If you are okay with having her on a strict schedule, then I would begin by putting her down for a nap at a certain time, then wake her up, then keep her up and keep her occupied until the afternoon nap, then wake her up after a certain amount of time. If you think she needs an evening nap, only let her sleep for a while (my son needed this, but I only allowed him to sleep for 30-45 min). Especially if she doesn't fall asleep in the car, you shouldn't have a problem with this. It may take a week or two, but after a while she should get used to this and get accustomed to it, and you will find she will get tired around the same time every day. It will get easier the longer you do it. You eat at the same time every day, and you sleep at the same time every day. Almost every baby is capable of adjusting to this routine. If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me at any time! :) Good luck!!
  8. When I first started reading, I thought to myself "big deal, just blow it off, I'd LOVE if someone cleaned my house", but the more I read, the more I became irritated. I would be royally ticked off if someone did all of that to my house. So sorry!! ((hugs))
  9. Dove unscented bar for body, and washing my face with just water then using Alba Botanica Aloe and Green Tea moisturizer, which is heavy enough to work, but light enough to not leave a residue or make your face feel greasy. I also like using Alba Botanica Cocoa Butter body lotion. It is nice and heavy, but once it soaks in my skin is just soft not greasy. Any of the regular Alba lotions work well also. I have a huge jug of the original version in my bathroom, but I prefer the cocoa butter one. Good luck! I have tried just about everything. I don't know how many 1/4 or less used bottles of body wash, shampoo, and lotion I have thrown away b/c they just didn't work for me. :( I have a reaction to just about everything. For some reason, Bath and Body Works body wash doesn't bother me. *shrug* My poor hands are cracked and bleeding right now, just from washing the dishes.
  10. My cat usually vomits only dry food, but when she does vomit something else, I wipe up as much as I can then I spray with Resolve (the kind in the red trigger squirt bottle) and scrub with a brush. I never really have a problem with it collecting dirt afterward. *shrug*
  11. I have a hushmail.com account for a couple different things, and I NEVER get email except for what relates to the reason I opened it (pms from a forum board and messages from sittercity). No spam or unwanted email, ever.
  12. I honestly don't care. I only use Instagram on my ipod, which takes terrible blurry, grainy pictures. LOL Most of them are just pictures of my pets or the sunset, and I just use it when I need to take a quick pic to share with my family on FB. I don't imagine they would want to use them.
  13. Granted you can't keep them in a tiny cage (ANY bird will get depressed in one), but a bantam chicken such as what we used to have does not need much room. Nothing near what a standard size chicken does. Ours was not much bigger than a cockateil, but no one seems to have a problem keeping them in a tiny cage. ;)
  14. I would say a bantam chicken. Some are very small (we had one that was the size of a softball) and can be kept in a cage inside, but they do best in at least pairs b/c they are social animals so they get depressed if they are alone. If you get them as chicks and handle them frequently, they can become very attached to you and be very friendly. :) They don't sing, though.
  15. Proactiv did stop working for me (I'm still convinced they start sending you a placebo after a certain amount of time) but the Walmart version has never stopped working. I've been using it for two years now. ;)
  16. Go to Walmart. They have the generic version (Equate brand). It works the same but costs less than half, and you don't have to wait for it to be shipped. It is what I use. :) I actually like the smell of the Equate version better, the Proactiv smelled nasty to me.
  17. I let him decide for himself. I figure if he chooses wrong then that is a natural consequence to be cold. He also chooses to wear shorts sometimes when I would think it is too cold, but it is his body, and he never complains. He has yet to get sick from being cold. ;) I also don't wear a coat unless it is REALLY cold outside, so I can't bust his chops for not wearing one if I'm not either.
  18. Haven't even started. It's hard to buy gifts when you don't have any money. :blushing: We'll probably buy a few gifts for DS on the 23rd when we usually do most of our shopping.
  19. Yikes!! I cut the side of the tip of my index finger off with a rotary cutter years ago (I was using a metal ruler to cut against, and my finger was hanging over the edge), so YIKES! I'm glad he didn't do more damage than he did!
  20. Love Actually - 13+ (DS has been watching it his whole life...or since it came out...but others may be a bit more picky) Last Holiday - 13+ (same as above) The Family Man - 13+ (same as above) The Family Stone - 13+ (same as above) A Miracle on 34th Street - whole family (the new one, not the old one) The Preacher's Wife - whole family (the one with Whitney) Home Alone - whole family
  21. We got married at the country club where our reception was held. We were supposed to get married in a church, but they never told us that we needed to put a deposit down (even though we asked) and they gave away our spot. It actually worked out in the end, though, b/c we didn't have to travel between the wedding and the reception, and it limited the number of people that could attend the actual ceremony so we only had our close friends and family members. Everyone else was just invited to the reception.
  22. Our son is in 8th grade, and up until this year was in public school. We have lived in this area for almost two years, and we were very unhappy with the public school here, so right before school began in August we made the decision to pull him out and home school him. Well, we are now planning on moving back to our home state, probably over the holidays, and we will be putting him back in public school. We are hoping to have him start right at the beginning of the semester. I have no idea how this works. LOL What do I need to do? Do I need to show them anything or take anything with me when I go to register him? I have been keeping good track of his work and grades, but I have no idea how to print off a progress report or anything like that. I'm using Homeschool Tracker, if anyone can give me an idea. ;) Thanks!!
