  1. Booking dot com is legit site. I used them this year for a hotel stay. Lots of hotels charge for parking depending on their location.
  2. I made it to 80 hours in March and 175 for the year. I was in CA for a week and the weather was perfection and then I lucked out with some nice weather here too. I can’t imagine doing much more than 80 a month, but we’ll see. I suppose in summer I’ll just sit outside more, we’ll eat outside at home too. Plus more pickleball. I have a great screened porch, but I’d like to do something with my back patio or actual yard to get myself out closer to nature. All in all it’s been a good three months and it’s pushed me to be outside more than usual. I’m not sure of the real benefit to me, but I’m going to keep going. Being outside does feel good in the moment.
  3. I use the MZOO 3D mask. I like that my eyes can open with it on. But it can get kind of hot sometimes. We’ll see how it works this summer.
  4. I need more info on these cooling toppers! I get so hot. That’s my next challenge to fix. I am also a recent eye mask convert. I have the ones where you have room to Open your eyes, but sometimes they make my face too hot. We’ve always used a sound machine. I’m looking for a summer fan, but DH hates when it blows on him so I need to figure that out. I’m a side sleeper with my dog snuggled in my knee bend. It’s hot, but comforting until he gets the shakes.
  5. Once you’re there it’s not as confusing as you think. Download the app before you go and enter all your credit card info so you’ll be ready. After you get your bags, look for the ride share pickup signs at the terminal exit. When you get out there request your ride. They’ll be plenty of cars available for pickups at an airport. some airports have designated parking spots for the ride shares that you walk to. Not sure about DFW. But you can call the driver through the app if you can’t find them. Or they’ll call you if they get there and you’re not there. Make sure you check the make and license plate so you’re in the right car. just double check you have the destination address correct when you enter your ride info. I always get paranoid I typed in something wrong and I’m going to the wrong place 😂
  6. You’re going to have so much fun!! Enjoy every minute😀 And yes, you can buy whatever you need, but you always need less than you think!
  7. I bought these for my trip to France last year and wore them almost every day of my trip and probably 1/2 of the days since then 😂https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=533655002&vid=1#pdp-page-content I can wash them in the sink and they’re dry by morning. They are super durable. Look brand new and it’s been almost a year and countless washes. I also used a travelon purse with lots of zippers. It came in super handy. I usually don’t even carry a purse at home, but loved having this available while I traveled.
  8. I can't get it to send to the registry address either. The registry comes up with a title, but when I go to checkout it's just my previously used group addresses. I've had this issue before and I think maybe because I am using a business account? If you want to message me the address I will be happy to send some things, but if you don't want to share that, I get it 🙂
  9. I’ve noticed lately if I go to Google maps on my computer and look around where I’m going, sometimes I can get vacation rentals to be a choice to explore. From there I can click on ones and other rental company options come up.
  10. My numbers are similar but slightly lower, total always in the 190-220 range and I always went by the ratio as well. Last time I did bloodwork I asked for the APOb level. New info thinks that is a more reliable indicator of future issues. I think there are some changes in thinking of how diet affects cholesterol, and that it’s tied into carbs and insulin resistance. https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2024/01/08/apo-b-cholesterol-test/
  11. There’s an app called roadtrippers that might be what you’re looking for. But I’ve never used it.
  12. We use these all the time. Used Gypsy in Hawaii, just used Action in California. i think you can just google audio tour and the route you’re interested in and see what comes up. They work on gps and sometimes they get a little wonky, but in general they’re a great way to tour on your own time.
  13. In the other cleaning thread, several people said they loved their robot vacuums. I have hardwood floors and a yellow lab that sheds like crazy and drools some. Is there any chance one of these would work well enough to matter on our floors? Do they scratch at all? We vacuum a lot, but I’d love an easy way to clean more than that. ETA- if so- which one do you recommend?
  14. So, I have been working on getting better sleep and have found I really like wearing a sleep mask. I like the one I have a lot, but it gets hot and sometimes I wake up sweaty and really wanting to take it off. Does anyone wear one they like? That stays cool? I’ve also become really sensitive to noise and I’d like to have a pair of noise canceling earphones, maybe ones I could fall asleep in. Any recommendations?
  15. We helped a boy in a similar situation when he turned 18. He left on his birthday and came to live with us. He was friends with DS, so we didn’t have the romantic involvement. His parents were truly awful and what they did was absolutely abusive in my opinion. No phone, refused to let him learn to drive, withheld financial documents. It’s not an exaggeration to say they hated us for providing an out to their son. It’s hard to become an independent adult at that age. Things cost a lot. There’s a certain amount of trauma being treated like that and then cut off. She’ll need a lot of support, both emotional and financial and logistical. There’s still a lot of growing up to do at 18. It’s a hard age to strike out on your own. Dating a 22 year old is the least of the issues, but it can complicate things for sure.
  16. It was 232 last March, 199 in November. As far as I know the only time I’ve had Covid was in July between tests. I’m working with a functional nutritionist just for overall health improvement and to lose weight. I also had some slightly high inflammation numbers, but they went down similarly to the ferritin. I didn’t think much about anything until I saw my drs chart, and then it got me curious. Mostly if I did have low b12 that was masked by supplementing and if that meant anything else.
  17. My ferritin levels are high actually. I started on b complex and they came down some at my 6 month bloodwork, but they’re still slightly out of range. I work with a nutritionist who tested my ferritin, but not my b12, and then did my bloodwork for my dr visit and she tested b12 and not ferritin. I didn’t really think much about it, but my drs office switched their medical records and now mine says at some point I had a b12 deficiency. I don’t know where that came from, and with the records switch this is the first level in my chart. Although I do vaguely remember it. I don’t feel badly, but you always wonder if you can feel better and with the ferritin connection, it just made me wonder. I’ve been taking a b complex and haven’t noticed any difference, but I haven’t been really consistent.
  18. I read somewhere about pictures of the guests. Everyone is always so dressed up and looking their best, a picture memento would be nice. But I’m not sure how costly that would be. I like the consumable gifts- coffee is cute. Around here we see mainly cookies or chocolates.
  19. If you don’t currently have enough in their 529’s and live in a state with the tax benefit- you can make the 529 contribution to get the tax benefit, then distribute it back out to pay the tuition. Depends on your state and limits if this is useful or not https://www.savingforcollege.com/article/how-much-is-your-state-s-529-plan-tax-deduction-really-worth
  20. I got my bloodwork back today and my levels were 379. But I’ve been on a b-complex for the last 4 months, although I don’t take it every day. I’m not great at consistent supplement taking, but I’ve taken it more than 50% of the days. I’m reading that my blood test wouldn’t be accurate? Is there any way to get a true number if you’ve already been supplementing?
  21. I have a Chase card and went through my old emails. That looks like a legit email address. I get notifications every so often from that exact address about my credit score changes which Chase monitors as part of my credit card account.
  22. We had a beautiful day today, and I got to play pickleball outside yesterday and today so I hit 100 hours! Only a couple days late.
  23. I traveled with a high school group to Europe last summer and several of the guys wore cross body type bags they could wear across their front. They were pretty handy. https://www.amazon.com/Travelon-Classic-Sling-Bag-Black/dp/B00ICD5ZMK/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2340GSJI47P9P&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.9shM77UNvVIlqhNLEZHvxpa7zUPF5_Y02GBuIjeDNOmHfsWgl1FbQ7ga90Xv8Gf9IciD3vpy-6ZqXprdtHV-D6bLWbidKsnCAkYek3GftOP5JqlnPYAl_XS42t-9ZyU1fydB7dnkAQzVmZlkbsK-kFhwxhgChU04CQWP-kpW2cHZP37DrGyZUA_pSK4YTZtIwpND45EhuqUsIv4VoDFVtuEqesayaZDFgSPYH1S0PzVsBAGOeaZRZfXEJmV45G70ZhZOzfjuv-Wi7NztIRRhv1T_h-40u0-t16SkzZv-Pu0.W0P6jlK8ym-WGSfIvqL3OhjdCnx9mIRL6zzBoZws_Hk&dib_tag=se&keywords=travelon+anti+theft+crossbody+bag+for+men&qid=1709402759&sprefix=anti-theft+crossbody+bag+for+men%2Caps%2C89&sr=8-3#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div
  24. I was trying to hit 100 before the end of February, but I’m sitting at 94. We had a lot of rain this week and I didn’t get out as much as I was hoping. Next week doesn’t look much better.
