  1. So why is it when these questions are asked (who won?) the first thing pointed out are all of the things that are second to the policies the candidates stand for? I'd much rather discuss the policies that are going to make the real difference in our country. I agree, McCain did not present himself well during this debate....he said some things that I bet he is kicking himself over right now. But how important is it in the grand scheme of things (economy, national safety, etc) that he slipped up a bit and didn't speak well? I'm not picking on you :tongue_smilie:It's just something I have noticed everywhere (especially in regards to our current president). I find it very superficial.
  2. I never quite know how to answer these. Are we talking about presentation, speaking, and mannerisms? Or are we talking policies? I try to keep the two separate because I don't think they have much to do with the other (and I'm much more concerned about one over the other as well).
  3. That was my recommendation :tongue_smilie: I didn't even think about the language before suggesting it (I didn't even remember the language being so foul! I would have gave a warning ). It is just one of the most moving stories. I guess I tend to look past foul language in movies IF the movie is worth it (and we usually stick to PG13). In real life, about as foul as our language gets around here is darn or gosh....gee golly lol For the longest time my children thought butt was a bad word  Some people do talk like that in real life. Maybe the reason I can look past foul language in a movie is because I have been around people that talked like that. I stand by my rec. though :D If you can get past the language, it is an awesome movie.
  4. We haven't seen that one yet (maybe we won't? lol) The last two we rented were "Definitely, Maybe" and "The Bucket List". We loved both of them! I'm tempted to go out and buy the dvds actually (especially Definitely, Maybe). The Bucket List is definitely a tear jerker. We don't watch movies much though. The last one before that I can remember renting was Reign Over Me (which we also loved! best Adam Sandler movie ever). * I was reminded that the language in this movie is quite foul. In spite of the language (coming from someone who usually sticks to PG13 and feels bad about saying darn), I still recommend this movie :D Just wanted to give fair warning *
  5. That's possible, but it wouldn't explain bashing lizards to death with a rock :(
  6. Concerning New Mexico, GretaLynne pretty much covered it :D Although, where I am at its not quite in my backyard (except for the sunsets!), so we still need to travel a bit for it all ;)
  7. I would say that's the landlord's responsibility. Every rental I've lived in the landlord has taken care of pest control (spraying for spiders, bugs, etc).
  8.:glare: (that would be an overenthusiastic fake laugh, followed abruptly by the evil eye lol)

  10. I usually flash freeze my bread right before the second rise - just shape it and stick it in the deep freeze on a cookie sheet. After about an hr its frozen enough to bag up. It can be thawed out in the fridge. With small dinner rolls, sometimes I just stick them in the oven frozen and put the oven on 170 until they thaw, never tried that with a loaf before though. My plan is to keep at least a months worth in the freezer. That's french bread though. If I used a regular loaf pan (which I'm going to start, I don't usually make sandwich bread), I'll just line it before freezing so that the frozen dough will pop out in the shape of the pan (or just use a silicone pan!). If anyone has a great recipe for sandwich bread, I could sure use one. That's the reason I don't usually make sandwich bread - haven't found one with the texture of commercial bread (we usually get the Sarah Lee multi-grain).
  11. I wasn't getting anywhere on the new site either, it won't log me in at all. You can still access the course at the old address though :) http://www.livelylatin.com/course/
  12. I have stick straight hair myself, so I haven't tried this....but I've heard great reviews for Jessicurl products.
  13. Hey, I don't remember giving you my recipe :tongue_smilie:That's pretty much how all my "recipes" are...shake of this, bit of that. Its an experiment every time I cook lol
  14. I used to say it myself! And it was true.... This is where I found myself. One of the major reasons I pulled my dd out of public school (besides that she was a bright kid failing subjects) was her attitude was just AWFUL. What I didn't realize at the time was that I didn't have the patience for her attitude while she dealt with public school. Patience now is still a battle of mine :tongue_smilie: but her attitude and the harmony in our home has changed so much since bringing her home.
  15. We just watched "Definitely, Maybe" (romantic comedy). Now even though I cried at parts, I don't think it was all that sad. I cry at everything LOL I loved it :D A little older, but I love How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days - I could watch that over and over. I hope the appt goes well (as well as it can....). You're a great friend for being there with her throughout the appt. Hopefully you can enjoy a couple of good movies together!
  16. I'd beta test it it as well! I'd be wary about using i or tracker in the name though. Maybe even Mac? I would imagine there would be some issues with trademarks. I don't have any other suggestions though (maybe it will help if I come back to it tomorrow rather than in the middle of the night lol).
  17. I agree, to a point. The fact that he has had cancer does raise questions about whether it will come back or not. Even then though, I don't think the health battles he's fought should necessarily prevent him from being president. And age doesn't really have much to do with it.
  18. :001_huh: I agree? He is not a healthy woman.... The point I was trying to make was that people (men and women) live well into their 90s, and even 100s, and are still alive and kickin' ;) Age just can't be compared like that.
  19. I don't think a particular age can be generalized like that. You would have to look at individual health and family background. You could have a 96 year old man jogging a mile everyday and a 60 year old man who can hardly climb a flight of stairs without getting winded. Look at McCains mom - she's 96 and she looks like she's still going strong ;)
  20. Would you mind sharing which program you use? :D My ds is very interested in speaking Spanish (he drives us all batty with gibberish lol). I'm not sure how he feels about actually LEARNING Spanish though, but I'd like to at least give him the opportunity while he is interested.
  21. That's what I was going to suggest as well. :001_unsure: That and rice milk where needed. Other than that, I'm not sure. You might try vegweb.com - lots of recipes there!
  22. I have mine set to the Firefox addon Fast Dial....basically, my bookmarks ;)
