  1. I have started tutoring online. Live online college writing, college English, high school writing, high school English, and more. I had no idea I would enjoy it as much as I do. It has been a big help for us.
  2. Does anyone have feedback about where to take this online? Both PA homeschoolers and HLSDA Academy offer this. I am researching options for next year. Any BTDT experience? Thank you!
  3. We have compared Gliga to Southwest strings(viola) and to Shar(violin). Gliga far and away better. HTH, Rebecca
  4. I highly recommend Gliga violins for quality, affordable instruments. We have been working our way up their models as children advance and so pleased with every level. https://www.violinslover.com
  5. Thank you SO much for sharing this Vida Winter. Have you experienced results yet?
  6. What is the money back guarantee zone please?
  7. He doesn't have any problem with pacing or speed.
  8. So, this is my first time through all of this. My son is a junior. His scores were not greater than 700. I don't know what to choose/do! He has personalized Khan practice from the PSAT scores. I would like to bring his composite score up at least 100 points. He did score solidly over 1200.
  9. What is a great choice for SAT prep? We have been using Khan, which is free. PrepScholar has a money back guarantee. We would really like to give it our all. Our son has a selective school as his first choice. Does anyone have BTDT experience? Does anyone have a review for PrepScholar? Thank you, Rebecca
  10. I also blog. I only post content that they would want to remember. I post with their permission (older ones). My blog has been very important for our family. I also post on Instagram. I have thought about this often/ a lot. I still blog. We have a large family and blogs written by mom's with large families are hard to find. I want to be a voice.
  11. Thank you for replying. I do not think Brainfuse offers what he needs. But I appreciate the info! Rebecca
  12. I need suggestions. My junior has written a piece of creative writing...aka 25,000 words. We need somewhere to go to get critique and feedback. Where can I find such a place? I gave him the assignment to write a novel for his senior project. He started this summer. He is just really feeling like he needs feedback and support/help. I feel it too! Rebecca
  13. Oh, oh happi I am SO beyond sorry.
  14. Well! I should have read here first! I started stalking the college board at midnight. Alas! I still have to wait. No other place can I share this angst but here. The struggle is real! Rebecca
  15. My son took it also. He is a junior.
  16. I have not read all the responses but I would actually start working very hard at building my relationship with this child. I would make time for her and love on her and listen- completely separate from these encounters/discipline issues. I have a very difficult child like this. However, if he started taking it to this level, I would actually see it as a cry for help and start trying to build our relationship more faithfully. If he was acting this extreme, I can guarantee there is something going on in his heart. HTH, Rebecca
  17. I think this is just for teens? Maybe it is for eleven and up. I am not sure. I got my son a MONEY card for his sixteenth birthday. We do bank with Capital One. I LOVE it. I can transfer money to him if needed and it transfers immediately. He loves it too. There are different ways to handle your thoughts/questions about the banking aspect. I am sure you will find one that suits you. -Rebecca

    Ballet

Thank you!!! This makes so much sense.

    Ballet

When is a good age to start ballet for girls? I have five year old twins and a 3.5 year old... I was thinking to wait until they were 7. I am unsure. I would wait because we are a large family stretched thin and tying to use resources efficiently/wisely. Would just like some thoughts...
  20. Thank you so so much for this ereneeandrews. Might I ask where you are going to grad school and what you are specializing in?
  21. If you are exhausted, make time to rest. Rest is the priority.
  22. Truly, I think some, possibly a lot, of this is from nursing. Are you drinking enough? I often felt like that during nursing years. I think you need to lower your expectations for right now. It is ok to be in a "survival" season. I would focus less on getting things done and more on restoring yourself: hot bath, hot tea, small walk, movie or a good book. It will not always be this way. I also think, if possible, getting a helper to give you space to breathe, could really help. It is hard but when school and relationships are the priority, the house often isn't. It is okay.
  23. Thank you both so much. For some reason, we feel very drawn to this school even though it is farther away than we prefer. I did look at the top 100 list. I think I will look again to explore more options. He is definitely not majoring in engineering, music, or going on to medical school from what he and I can determine at this time. He most likely would be accepted into a special honors cohort at our local community college if he stays here for his first two years and then transfers somewhere to complete his degree - this is our ultimate back up plan.
  24. Redwall!! This does fall in the fantasy category but it is also adventure. Beloved series for my boys.
