  1. I would pay the fee. I agree with pps who said that you want to avoid looking as is if the rules do not apply to you. I realize you are in a financial bind right now, but later on it could easily cause a huge rift in your co-op. $25.00 would not be worth the hassle. Yes your job is hard, but the parents/teachers work just as hard every week preparing/teaching their lessons, activities, experiements etc. Explain your financial situation (give as little or as much info as you fell comfortable with) and maybe the board would allow you to split your payments up into $5.00 per month for 5 months? hth
  2. I'm sorry your Aunt Flo came and ruined your day. :( Hopefully she will get the hint next month and stay away!! :grouphug:
  3. My dd is not a teen but a tweeny. Adults treat her unfairly all of the time. An example would be that they like to cut in front of her while in line at the checkout counter. It hurts her feelings and makes me so mad! Uggh.
  4. This site might be of some help. http://www.swaggrabber.com/?s=going+on+a+cruise
  5. We are finishing up CTG this year and plan to move on to RTR. For my upcoming 6th grader we will be using SOTW Student Activity Sheets, and making her do more notebooking pages, outlines, while beefing up her historical reading with All Through the Ages. I like to add more "grown up" timeline figures for her so I ordered History Through the Ages timeline figures. They are expensive but worth it to me. We may also add in more memory work. HTH
  6. Editing because I totally misread your post. For some odd reason I saw FLL 3 not WWE. My ramblings would not help you one little bit. ROFLMBO! I should know better than to post this late at night!
  7. I use MM as DD main curriculum. My DS' use MUS and we are supplementing with MM (very recently... as in this week when I got my download! :D ) I have a feeling we will be ditching MUS or only using it only when we need to cement a particular topic.
  8. Crossing my fingers that it comes this evening. X=fingers crossed
  9. Hmm, not sure. Maybe she's going in alphabetical order? My last name starts with an E. As for the Make it Real, I don't know what those are, maybe you can do a search on her website. Sorry not much help was I?
  10. Wahoo!! I opened my email this mornging to a wonderful site(pun intended :D)! Maria Miller sent me my Light Blue download!! Thanks Maria!
  11. I don't think it's probable. Jenny from www.southernsavers.com is the coupon queen and she lives on $50.00 per week. $35.00 doesn't seem possible. Hmm, I am editing to say that I read your post wrong. I thought you meant $35.00 per week for the entire family. $35.00 per adult is abolutely doable. I change my vote to "Yes" you can live off of $35.00 per adult per week quite easily if you coupon. You can even buy soy milk (which I usually get for $1.00 per half gallon!) and organic. :)
  12. I'm sure you will get lots a great advice on this subject from the ladies/men on this board, but one of the things I like about MM is that Maria is available to answer questions! Sometimes she finds the time to answer them right here on our very own WTM forums! How cool is that?! Mandie
  13. If you just want to stories I highly reccomend Jim Weiss. If you want novels and such try www.librivox.org. It's a free website where you can download audio books read by folks like you and me. Since these people are not professional the quality of some books isn't that great but hey, it's free. :) Please excuse any grammatical or other errors, I've just recently had neck surgery and still taking pain meds ;)
  14. Sounds like you may like Mystery of History. edited to add that you may also like SOTW. If you use SOTW you may want to add in bible.
  15. First, there are no dumb questions ;). Second if your student has never done dictation before you may want to start with a lower level WWE. Starting in the middle of 4th may be to much for your student to handle, especially if they have never done dictation before. WWE builds apon itself very nicely. It would be like giving a baby pot roast instead of mash potatoes. It would not go down very well. ;) If starting at a lower level is not an option I would start by having them write on one simple sentence each lesson. Dictate the sentence slowly, possibly giving dc cues when punctuation comes up. You will know when your child is ready for the paragraphs. HTH
  16. Hi Rod, I am planning on adding WRTR/ontrackreading to our schedule this summer and into the fall. Thanks for allowing me to download the sound cards. Right now we are using Funnix, and I was wondering if my boys 8 and 6 will have trouble switching over to WRTR/OTR from Funnix? If you think so then what can I do to make the transition easier? Could they do both programs, or would that be unwise since they seem to be very different from one another. I have more questions but have just gotten home from having neck surgery and am not thinking to clearly please forgive my ramblings. Thanks in advance. Mandie
  17. If you feel it's too light add WWE. We do and love it!
  18. My kids are 11, 8 and 6 and we use English from the Roots Up. We us MFW and that's what they reccomend. I like that they have us study one root word a week along with several of it's derivatives . At the end of the week the kids make up a sentence using one of the deriatives. It's very gentle. In the past I used TOG but felt that studying 15-20 vocabulary words a week was to much for us.
  19. His consequence could be to do a #2 with the seat up. :tongue_smilie:
