  1. I have no idea of her financial situation. She does not have a job.
  2. It’s an off campus apartment. No other signs of a break-in. Only two people have key other than the apartment maintenance. Not sure why the roommate wouldn’t respond to say she didn’t take the stuff and be concerned herself that someone entered and took stuff from their apartment.
  3. Not yet. Dd asked her about it and the roommate has not responded to her at all.
  4. The last time I bought toilet paper was in December. I bought two big packs from BJs - one for us and one for dd up at school. Plus I bought college dd a semester’s worth of non fresh food. So, after almost 3 months, it’s time to replenish the tp supply. Little did I expect to not be able to find much available to buy. Dd reminded me that she had the BJs pack up at school that she would be picking up today. I finally found tp, and I only bought four packs because I knew that I had the large pack coming. Dd went up to school to retrieve her backpack and books and discovered the toilet paper and all her unopened food is gone. Her roommate will not respond to her.
  5. Yes, it was agreed that I’d be off when school has off, except for the summer, including snow days and any sick days that my dd may have. I don’t think we put it in writing. I’m in PA. A friend told me that I’m might qualify for workers comp if I’m sent home early or forced to take days off with no pay. I wouldn’t do that, but it is frustrating that I sometimes can’t count on full pay and I don’t have flexibility to leave early if I need to (I have to take a full day off).
  6. DD’s cheer team was supposed to perform an opening for special Olympics this morning, but it was canceled due to the coronavirus.
  7. I’m not sure if I have a chance to respond officially or not. I had a self-evaluation form, but it didn’t include attendance or a place for a response. I’m the only employee (for a big Corp). I work for a couple of real estate agents, who pay me through their brokerage firm. I’m not penalized officially for taking off the days, but they always seem disappointed and it stresses me out when I remind them I won’t be in on such and such day. I get my work done and a lot of the time I offer to work from home, which the majority of the work I do is capable of being done at home. (They usually don’t take me up on it because one doesn’t think it’s healthy to work at home - when you are home, you are off, and the other one just doesn’t want me to work from home.) Yes, my overall evaluation was good. It was the attendance part that was marked lower.
  8. I have a question about evaluations. I have a part time job, paid barely more than minimum wage. I was willing to take the job because they said they were willing to work around school hours and holidays including snow days and days I needed to be home if my dd was sick (which are all unpaid). That was the agreement when I was hired. Besides my summer vacation and a day I was subpoenaed for a court case, that is all that I have missed plus 5 minutes I had to leave early this week for an appointment. In my evaluation, I was marked down for attendance because I have taken those days off. My dh and I don’t think it’s fair to hold that against me when that was the agreement when I was hired. I’m not missing more than what we agreed on when I took the job. Plus, I’m often told to leave early or just not come in at all, without pay and no notice. My dh pointed out that if I were to add up all that time, that is more than the time off than I’m missing for no school days. Most of the days that I’m off for school, I’m willing and able to complete the work at home, so they are not in a lurch because of my absence. Short story, on paper I’m marked down for not having reliable attendance. Is this valid even though they agreed at the point of hire that I would miss those days? (Mostly days like Presidents Day, etc) Ironically, I have a half day for teacher in service day today!
  9. I wish! Bar Harbor has flowers all over. I took pictures of all of them!
  10. I’d don’t have many pictures of me. I tried to edit so it’s just me, but was afraid I’d lose the original picture. This in Bar Harbor last summer. (edit - my hair isn’t that blonde anymore) Can’t believe I missed Scarlett’s pic!
  11. A lot has changed for you in two years. Thanks for being so open with sharing your blog and experience. Whatever happened to the refrigerator you were waiting for?
  12. What about jr achievement? https://www.juniorachievement.org/web/ja-usa/home In particular, this program: https://www.juniorachievement.org/web/ja-usa/ja-programs?p_p_id=56_INSTANCE_abcd&p_p_lifecycle=0&p_p_state=maximized&p_p_mode=view&p_p_col_id=ja-maincontent&p_p_col_count=1&_56_INSTANCE_abcd_groupId=14516&_56_INSTANCE_abcd_articleId=19406
  13. Reese had to go to an emergency vet tonight to continue his IV thru hopefully just tomorrow. They said he would have died if she didn’t bring him in. It’s so hard to believe because he seems so happy and healthy. Nobody has mentioned special food to my mom so she doesn’t think it’s necessary. From what I’ve read, that’s basically the only thing an owner can do.
  14. My mom found out this morning her mini-poodle, the brother to our mini-poodle, is in renal failure. He is spending the night at the vet’s for an iv and testing, He had an episode where he was ultimately diagnosed with something to do with his parathyroid. He is only 3 years old. (He is JoJo’s “brother”. My mom rescued the cat from Creekland.) If your dog has renal failure, any advice?
  15. That’s it! Was just wondering how things were going from then to now.
  16. If she texted or emailed, some of the wording could be autocorrect. I can’t even type a sentence without autocorrect changing something, sometimes I catch it, but other times, autocorrect says what it wants. As far as the money, sounds like she was typing her stream of thought at the moment, and is truly content with what you paid back. I’d take her at her word and not repay anymore.
  17. I don’t remember the poster who hired a mother’s helper this school year, but I was wondering how it was going? To help jog your memory, the mother’s helper was to entertain the preschoolers in the morning while mom did school with the older kids and then the mh was to make lunch for all the kids.
  18. My middle daughter was able to get on my phone with face recognition. None of my other kids were, even my daughter that looks most like me. However, my facial recognition stopped recognizing my face, so I had to reset it and it doesn’t work for middle daughter anymore.
