  1. I need a program I can learn to use as an adult. I read very well etc. but I need to read faster with good comprehension to keep up with my training and homeschooling. Any ideas? Thanks everyone.
  2. We just started using math rider and timez attack and my 6 yr old loves it. Older ds14 loves timez attack too.
  3. I'll say move her up if she wants. You have the other books and can pull them out if needed. My DS6 worked through all the books and had no trouble with 4, but he was reading pretty well already. Your DD may enjoy ETC4 and still do a few pages of the earlier books too. ETC4 is some what different from the earlier ones.
  4. Today went on a 7.5 mile walk. I'm learning to speed walk rather than just walking fast.
  5. Cool, sounds like she is a very bright kid.
  6. :iagree: she may be beyond that now. We used the before books because we had them and DS did them for fun while doing the ETC books. You can go slow with the ETC books or back off if needed.
  7. :grouphug: hope she gets the help she needs for the depression and another job too.
  8. This is just the thread I needed. I've been having doubts lately because most homeschoolers around me shun academic rigor. I'll be following this thread. My kids thrive on a rigorous program with fun activities thrown in.
  9. Oh no DD13 has a hamster that she adores.
  10. :grouphug: no ideas, my ds6 does that too but his older brother has been helping put him in line. Also he has been taking taekwondo lessons so maybe that is helping too.
  11. Anyone know where I can find running skirts. I want one that is modest but fashionable. Maybe just above knee length or thereabouts. Thanks.
  12. I think it'll be best for her to see a geriatric psychiatrist or geriatrician. A MMSE or MOCA test will help with diagnosis. She'll need someone who spends time with her to go for the appointment with her. They'll be able to give details she can't remember that'll be usefull in diagnosis. Things like how she does with activities of daily living, finances, directions, learning new things, sleep/wake cycle etc. How is her general health? A medical illness even a urinary infection can set things off but it's been going on a while so sounds more like a cognitive decline. A rule out of depression would be usefull too. Occassionally a neuropsychological test, MRI or PET scan is done but these are mainly academic and not necessary for diagnosis usually.
  13. Borgess Half Marathon in Kalamazoo. Your son is almost my birthday mate :). Thanks and any ideas on how to train better?
