  1. sad...very sad. I would say something to the parent when I saw them...but that's just my mama bear coming out. When it involves children I'm more inclined to speak up than if it were just me... She really should know that this is rude and hurtful. This article came up on my FB feed today... it's not exactly a mirror of what happened, but definitely close: http://mic.com/articles/113138/there-s-a-modern-problem-afflicting-our-friendships-and-it-s-time-to-talk-about-it
  2. Oh my! It's late now, but I want to watch it... I'll try tomorrow...maybe I'll get lucky. What do you know about Movie CPA. It looks free.
  3. no, satellite. I think I may read the book, but honestly...I'm lazy and I'd like to watch my gossip rather than read it
  4. I've never heard of that one before. Where can you buy Andolou products?
  5. I have this weird fascination with Scientology and I'd really like to see the documentary on HBO. Does anyone know if it's available elsewhere or how long it might take for it to go to Netflix or Amazon live-streaming?
  6. Wow, sounds like a great way for this mom to sabotage any friendships this girl may have. How sad. And yes, I think it's very weird... taking helicopter parenting to a new level.
  7. I prefer tinted moisturizer (esp. in the winter) and BB cream... They're both a lightweight cover rather than heavy creams. I'll usually top it with some powder because I don't like the "glow" look. They also have CC cream, but I haven't tried it yet. I also like using Paula's Choice reviews... I think it's called Cosmetic Cop.
  8. That's great!! Congratulations to your son. I've had two kids do Model UN. one for Montessori school and the other in high school. I wish my son's current school did it. I think it would be a great experience. I agree that it was very challenging for both but both kids are glad they did it and had the experience. My youngest did it last year in 6th grade and then we switched from Montessori to a more traditional school and he said that writing the persuasive essays for MUN really helped him prepare for this year.
  9. I'm enjoying "The Last Man on Earth" it's a new series, but you can watch it via Fox website. "3rd Rock from the Sun" is now available streaming on Netflix... it's an oldie but goodie. "The Middle" however, I don't know if it's available streaming for free. "Vicar of Dibley" - love this show... and love Dawn French - another oldie but goodie.
  10. yup, i'm a bit like that too. I'm actually having trouble narrowing my interests down, like Quill.
  11. I'm so very sorry to see this. I had hoped that with the OP it was some kind of job situation...I'm very sorry it isn't. No advice, but I wanted to give you :grouphug:
  12. there's over 3300 views so far!! Everyone is dying to know what happened.
  13. that is rich. I may need to revisit this thread just to copy and paste. I never have anything clever to say back to such people.
  14. me too. No one has commented :svengo: ... sadness.. everybody hates me... I think I'll leave
  15. Haha!! I just got one of those announcements today! All I think was "pick me! pick me!!"
  16. Still no updates?? I hope everything is okay.
  17. LOL... I remember one time my teenaged dd had been asking for pop tarts..for the longest time. "Absolutely Not!" said I. A few months later, after she'd given up hope and in a moment of mommy love, I broke down and surprised her with Pop Tarts. Yeah, you'd thought I'd bought them a Unicorn or something... and one dd said, "Where is my mother and what have you done with her???"
  18. Sounds like fun, but I'm also disappointed they want my personal information. bummer.
  19. breakfast is a fend for yourself. I make a bag lunch for ds...but dh takes care of himself. I cook dinner about 98% of the time (if it's being cooked). I'm so over cooking dinner, but I also like healthy/good food. My only other option is to eat out.
  20. I agree. It's not weird at all. I've seen people pop in as new posters just for one thread. It's a good reminder that this place isn't private and our threads are easily found via google.
  21. me too. I would be concerned too. Do you have any mutual friends that you can ask?
