  1. :grouphug: Sorry that you didn't get the kittens back.
  2. I say, "Please don't eat anything. Please don't eat anything!" Our puppy is now 10 months old and she chews more now than she did before.
  3. My ds10 is currently seeing an OT for motor planning and handwriting issues. I've attached a brief article that describes the skills needed for handwriting, problems kids may have, and some strategies to help them. It is a general overview, but it helped me to better understand all of the different skills needed in order to write. http://www.cdl.org/resource-library/articles/graphomotor.php
  4. I never knew it was possible to burn something in a crockpot  . I'm glad that you figured it out.
  5. :grouphug: Hugs and prayers for you and your family. Hope the girls are well.
  6. :iagree: I would worry about infection. Better to get it looked at now than have it get worse and end up with more problems and a larger vet bill.
  7. Congratulations! Sounds like the baby-to-be is going to have a very happy big sister.
  8. Distract her with a plate of cupcakes, grab the kitty, and run. All kidding aside, I hope that you are able to resolve this situation. I never realized how many crazy neighbors were out there until I started reading this board.
  9. :hurray: I finally got to be in on it. Is it wrong to be excited that my kids are sick so I have first hand knowledge of what went down?
  10. I have to make supper today too? It is rainy and cold and I just don't feel like it. Take out Chinese is for dinner here. It is one thing everyone can agree on.
  11. Could you keep the table, but use those large trifold cardboard displays to divide their space into individual spots when they need to work independently? I bought some of those at Walmart for a few dollars each. We actually open them up and use them during spelling because our spelling rules are posted inside. You could use them as portable walls for vocabulary, spelling, etc. and individualize it for each child depending on what they are working on. Or, let them decorate it the way they want to make it more appealing?? Just a thought. The ones from Walmart are called "School Smart Tri-Fold Presentation Board" and they are 36" x 48".
  12. No, this is about the video link that a "visitor" kept posting on every forum. He had a colorful vocabulary and very poor spelling!!
  13. :grouphug: Maybe she meant it in a harmless way?? I think it is wonderful that your sons have a close bond and enjoy giggling together. Some people just make small talk and it comes out the wrong way, YKWIM. By the way, I call my own sons wild. They crave movement and are noisy and absolutely curious about everything around them. Fun is their middle name! So, I don't necessarily consider wild to be an insult. Now, if the neighbor had said they were rude, obnoxious, disrepectful, etc., then I would worry. You would know if they were out of control, and it doesn't sound like they were. Do not feel the need to justify going out for a walk by having this person in your home to see what you do. You have nothing to prove.
  14. I like the idea of a table for group activities and projects, but individual desks for independent work. It would take up more space though. Desks on wheels that Shawthorne mentioned is an interesting idea, but in our house that could let to problems. It would be like a demolition derby with desks.
  15. Well, there is a saying that I read recently that I really liked. I am sure I could probably find it on a sign on etsy or ebay. Definitely need to hang it by my front door: "If you are coming to see me, ring the bell. If you are coming to see my house, please call for an appointment." Three kids, bunch of pets, sports, school....life happens and the house seems to be the last priority sometimes. Of course, I could be dusting and vacuuming now but I am on the WTM! Priorities!!
  16. I agree with the others. Our neighbor's dd is a soccer goalie. She suffered a concussion and her family didn't realize how serious it was. If she wants to continue playing in the future, it was recommended that she wear some type of head gear. I think we have more research now that shows that hits to the head, whether it is soccer, football, boxing, etc., can have serious long term effects. Glad to hear that you are going to the doctor. Hope all is well.
  17. I think you were being helpful. I am always introducing myself to others when I find out they have a child newly diagnosed with autism. I have "been there, done that" and know how important outside support can be. If this woman was uncomfortable with sharing personal info, I don't think she would have mentioned it at church. I hope she and her daughter can find some useful info on the website.
  18. I answered yes to both questions. The boys prefer to just sleep in boxers with or without a t-shirt, depending on the weather. My now deceased grandmother told me years ago that they never wore undies under their pajamas. I think it had something to do with hygiene. A bit of "air circulation" ?? ? After three kids, I feel like I should be wearing Depends full time. One sneeze and I would wet the bed  .
  19. That is awesome! Enjoy your new home.
  20. I think Sadie would be adorable! Gorgeous puppy!!
  21. I vote for piece of a filling too. I recently did this myself with a rice krispy treat. Still hasn't cured my sugar addiction :001_smile:.
