  1. Well, if I was still living down the street from you I could have come over and we would have had a great time!! :) Sorry, Chris :grouphug:
  2. Well, I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that the thousands of illegal voter registrations that ACORN has submitted were not intended to help McCain, since ACORN has endorsed Obama. http://www.thenation.com/blogs/campaignmatters?bid=45&pid=289192
  3. I believe that families are assigned an "educational consultant" or something like that, and they review your yearly educational plans. I would not be interested.
  4. I don't normally check in, but may I announce that I ran my first 5K today?! I have never run that distance before. I usually only run about 2 miles. I completed it in 31 minutes. :)
  5. I'm so sorry. I agree with going to the doctor's office and when we lived in the states, we had a great congressman. :grouphug:
  6. Have you asked him to consider hiring someone to do the yardwork? You said you don't have the money to do that, but perhaps suggesting it to your husband would provide some incentive for him to do it? Or, you could always offer a nice cup of teA afterwards.
  7. I see what you mean. But, enough of the thread is left to show that there is more diversity on this homeschooling board than most.
  8. pqr- He's a gentleman and his children will not have mohawks ;). I believe he is very well-read and would make a great dinner companion. JennifersLost- She has great legs and knows how to scrub her kitchen floor. She is too hard on herself.
  9. 18Therefore you shall lay up these My words in your [minds and] hearts and in your [entire] being, and bind them for a sign upon your hands and as forehead bands between your eyes. 19And you shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you rise up. Deuteronomy 11:18-19 As for this being an evangelical cult, I guess you haven't read the "heathen" thread. This board is quite diverse.
  10. Thank you for the links. She doesn't chew on socks, but she does have a rope toy. She hasn't been sick any more. I brought her kennel into the family room so she could be with us. She is such a sweet dog. I hope she's not seriously ill.
  11. Our 5-month old puppy is sneezing(?) a vomit/poo-like substance. It began about 2 hours ago. I heard her make a sneezing sound and noticed drops of "stuff" all over the kitchen floor. It smelled like poo, was brown, and is coming from her nose. It occurred again about 45 minutes later, but in a much smaller amount. It is 8pm here, so I can't take her to the vet until morning. Have you ever seen symptoms like this? She only eats puppy food and only goes outside for walks/bathroom business. She's a mutt. Abandoned in a local Japanese woman's yard. Was in foster care about 3 weeks before we got her. We've had her for about 3 weeks. Thank you so much!
  12. Love, love, love the new avatar!!!

  13. I think it's time for an intervention. For the dog's sake!
  14. Yes, I was told to avoid fatty foods. Hope he can schedule surgery soon!
  15. Get an avatar, woman!!!

  16. Now, if I could only find a bra that was a size "larger"!!! :D
  17. Yes. Some stores/brands even size their clothing differently so a woman would wear a smaller size than she usually would. I think it's a psychological ploy to get women to shop their store/brand. ;)
  18. :grouphug:. I've been thinking about you. We are in Japan and my 20-year old is in college in NC. There are many nights when I sleep with his "Cassie"- a stuffed animal duck that he's had since he was a baby. I'm sorry you are having a difficult time. :grouphug:
