    Also, my ds had an almost identical cut above his eye a couple years ago. It didn't look like much at the time and we just cleaned it up and covered it with a bandaid, but it's surprising how noticeable the scar is now.

    No vaccine is 100% effective, so yes, you can still get it. How effective the vaccine is depends on a number of things. Immunity wears off with time (both with the vaccine or if you have had the actual disease) and immunity can be gone after as little as 4 years after vaccination.

    :iagree: My dh had the same oral tradition. I researched his family, and it wasn't true. I also took some genealogy classes through BYU and this was a very common issue.

    I wouldn't use a steam mop on my wood floors, but I hardly ever mop them at all. :D I vacuum several times a week and spot clean with a damp rag. Every few months, I use a microfiber mop with Bona on the kitchen floors. I've never mopped anywhere else in the house, and the floors still look nice.

    My husband repaired ours, following instructions on a youtube video. He didn't have a problem with it, but he's very mechanical. I can ask him for details when he gets home this evening.

    I put other. :) I learned to put 2 spaces in my typing class about 40 (gasp) years ago. I learned the error of my ways a few months ago from someone on this board. I've been trying to break myself of the habit ever since, but it's hard! I'll see if I can find the thread... In the meantime, here's an article. Slate

    I put other. Older dd is in ps, younger dd plans to dual enroll every year. She'll do band, science, and Spanish at ps, and we'll do the rest at home. Her choice.

    That's fascinating! But, at least based on that video, they haven't convinced me that language has anything to do with it. Maybe the Himba's visual cortex has evolved differently, and they use different words as a result.
