  1. Sorry for your loss My grandmother died in July. We had a covid funeral. Only 10 people were allowed to attend. Everyone else zoomed. It sucked.
  2. yogurt is easy to make. you just need to bring milk up to the right temperature, add a spoonful of yogurt, and keep at that temp for about 9 hours.
  3. glad he is feeling slightly more relaxed. huge Hugs positive thoughts and best wishes
  4. Mine were pierced when I was 11. My grandmother was very against it. She told me they were the marks of a slave. I can really relate to that girl from cheaper by the dozen. The oldest has to do all the fighting for the younger siblings. I ripped one clear through my ear lobe straight down when I was 20. I didn’t wear earrings for a few months and the ear lobe healed up nicely ant the piercing hole was still there. I wear earrings every day and this last year have started to remove them at night.
  5. huge huge hugs thank you for the update continuing to send positive thoughts
  6. Sago Currently our house cow is giving us 8 litres a day plus feed g her calf. I am making sago every second day Yoghurt

  8. same. I have had some moments where I am trying to work out how in the earth are they getting that word to rhyme with the other listed words Or when it something that says put these words under the correct sound of "a"... um in Aussie there are 5 sounds of "a"
  9. Homeschooling 9 year old twin boys with interlectual Disabilities, FASD and an alphabet of diagnosis to do with trauma All curriculum moves too fast. We do a lot of moving sideways instead of forward so they feel achievement and a sense of progress.
  10. So sorry for the pain and grief you are going through. It is hard. Hugs
  11. My grandmother died in July. One week before her 90 th birthday. Just days before Melbourne went into hard lockdown. I went to my mums, told her I was going with her and that we needed to go to Melbourne and follow Nans wishes. Nan had a list of instructions that she wanted carried out as soon as she died. Nan had told myself, my brother and my mother about these lists and shown all of us where they were hidden. we did it. It wasn’t easy , we didn’t get everything right, but in the 3 days before full lockdown we got most valuables and sentimental items on their way to people who nan wanted them to go to, we organised a very small funeral, we managed this while dealing with Nan’s abnoxious crazy husband (why she married him in her later years is beyond our understanding).
  12. My other children at that age read 30 minutes a day or one chapter, whatever came first. They only read in that assigned reading time
  13. Not atypical twin boys. Only what they read to me. They cannot read independently yet. we have 3sessions of them reading to me a day. Each no longer than 5 minutes. I read to them lots during the day and they listen to 1 hour audio book every day
  14. On the news this morning. A 3 year old girl found alive and rescued 91 hours after the earthquake in Turkey.
  15. I don't care if she gets a dog or not. She was asking for what others would do. I responded 3 family members don't want the dog, 1 does. As others have hinted, the older children can leave home if they don't like the dog.
  16. We could change the animal and it may be easier to see. I want to get a pet spider, one of my children was bitten by one when small and is terrified, 2 others were attacked by one I want to get a snake. One of my children was bitten by one and is terrified, 2 others were attacked by one I want to get a rat....... People sometimes see it from another perspective if the animal is changed
  17. No. I would not get a dog, especially as 3 of your children have has bad experiences with dogs. I would think it extremely selfish for other family members to force a dog on people who are terrified of them.
  18. 0 new cases for 4th day in a row for Victoria. The hard lockdown worked
