  1. some airlines have been trying to pressure Australia to open up again. skeptical me thinks this is an airline company trying to force the issue also the current covid crisis here in Australia that has currently 3 states in lockdown originated from American flight crew in transit in Australia. Also because so many outbreaks from hotel quarantine were happening all the states of Australia petitioned to have the numbers of people coming into Australia capped at 3000 per week. Better for the whole country to have less people arriving and less lockdowns was the theory - but that was just before the whole thing went bottom up in Sydney. Australian borders are closed- only citizens or residence are allowed into the country - unless you are a celebrity or a sports star they seem to have different rules. but all arrivals have to do 14 days quarantine in a special hotel
  2. I don't get the dressing dogs in clothes thing 2 years ago my sil visited from Canada. She brought clothes over for our dog. She also brought stuffed toys for it. I gave the stuffed toys to the twins and put the dog clothes in the shed for rags. I have enough laundry without washing dog clothes. I have enough yard work without picking up stuffing spread everywhere.
  3. We are starting to get use to it. We have spent more time in some form of lockdown than out for a very long time
  4. I don't think much if our food comes from there. We are mostly an exporter of food I bet it will affect machinery parts and car parts and things like that
  5. I can hardly believe it yet another removalist truck has spread Covid within NSW. this will be the third time
  6. the title says it all. there will be no flights from USA to Australia by American Airlines for at least 2 months, including freight price increases and major delays expected for imported products https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-travel-ban-flights-american-airlines-la-sydney/7cab2f30-5a9b-4738-90de-d854aa513b0e

  10. Yes at the AAMI stadium But they are sayi g at the MCG there was transfer from seated person to seated person not immediately seated next to each other.
  11. The Vic stage 4 complete lockdown is extended
  12. Yes. The press conference was very direct that it was definately outside spread
  13. It has been determined that there was outside transmission at the footy at the MCG. Most of the transmission happened in areas like the bar and toilets, but there is some that were seated the whole time At the rugby they think transition mostly was when people were going in the gate, as people seated no where near each other, whole different tier from each other caught it.
  14. Sounds normal We have bee hives There are lots of wives tales remedies for stoppi g this, I have found they are a bit hit or miss. A b d all need to be put on right after being stung Honey A fresh cut onion Damp mud The uncurled frond of bracken rubbed on
  15. Apparently he was out and about in the community for 7 days with symptoms for a few of those days
  16. Oh no. That is terrible. A child that relatives hate will end up a teenager with self worth problems and an adult with bad mental health issues. The poor poor child
  17. There is also some spread from another stadium event. Rugby Australia v France match at AAMI Park Melbourne. They are naming the gate number and the isle numbers. So I guess they are thinking it could have been transmitted from either.
  18. NSW has 105 new cases. 3 removalists tested positive then decided to drive 300 km to rural NSW. Vic has 16 new covid cases. All connected to the known cases
  19. Manufactured meat isn't more environmentally friendly. It is a highly processed product
  20. At the research stage there is some type of fungi that can break down non recyclable plastic.
  21. as the Melbourne Cricket Ground spreading even is an unfolding thing here not much data is available. I think it is up to 6 that contacted Corona at the footy, none of them sere seated together one of these then went to a restaurant and infected people at tables nearby, one went to a bar and infected others, a child was infected and has spread it to a classmate at one school a teacher was infected at a highschool and now 6 other staff have been infected. and another school has some teachers and 1 student positive . from initial contact to spreading is as small as 24 hours link below is form yesterday news but it has footage of the MCG during the match and you can see that the audience wasn't packed https://www.9news.com.au/national/coronavirus-victoria-update-new-cases-july-17-new-restrictions-lockdown-latest/754d20b6-cd7f-4250-ae3c-86f27769d26e
  22. Sorry This is how it has been for Victorians through lots of lockdowns. People cannot go to work. And often people in rural areas have no cases for 100s of km, but still cannot go to work. It is hard, but it has proven effective in reducing cases dramatically here
  23. Media here in Vic is saying that they are upset because they will have to be tested every second day
  24. New tighter restrictions fro parts of Sydney. 4 suburbs people are only allowed to leave home if they work in health or emergency Only critical retail allowed to be opened in Sydney Non urgent building and repairs not allowed. No cleaners or workers into homes
