  1. I just did that at my library... THANKS!!! It looks like they will get 6 copies and I am 5th in line. I'll get it as soon as they do. I would never have thought of that!! And to answer the OPs question: If the book is in, then I get it the next day. As long as the library that the book was at pulls it that day. I know one of the libraries is really good at that!
  2. Lulu.com has them for $10.34 and $21.32. I bought the paperback books from them and I was quite pleased. Of course, you don't get free shipping from them. I bought it when they had the $20 off $20 deal.
  3. DH started using the Clearskin professional from Avon when I started selling it. It works for him! I can tell when he stops using it. My only problem is that it doesn't work as well for blackheads. But the other types of acne are gone. It is supposed to be comparable to Proactive, but I have heard that it is not as harsh. I have very sensitive skin, and I can't use the face pads. We have not tried Proactive.
  4. Ok, I need to know where you get the number rhymes! I have a 1st grader who is writing some numbers starting from the bottom, or backwards!!!
  5. LOL It doesn't bother me when DH moves furniture... Unless he does not let me clean under it while it is moved..:glare: But, it really irks me when I organize the kitchen or pantry and he does it about a week after I have. Or when he even LOOKS at my baking shelf :tongue_smilie:
  6. Bridges to Access is a program that covers GlaxoSmithKline meds. DH is on a medicine that is covered, and one of my meds I had my dr switch over to a GSK equivilent. You can go to their website for more information. There are also "discount" programs that give 10-70% off meds (mostly in the 10% range) that you might be able to use to get more savings.
  7. We are using the exact same thing! You can skip the optional dictation/copywork in FLL3 (there is not that much, anyways), but the other stuff is important in the student workbook. Something that is not duplicated in WWE
  8. Right now we are using "Mr Kernel's" butter flavor topping. My dh says that you have to have the right mix of coconut oil (an orange colored oil) we use Yoder's but that may be regional, since it is located in our area, but sold in stores around here. And Flavacol popcorn salt. You can pick it up at GFS stores.
  9. There is a time when we all started and were starry eyed at all the curriculum choices that we had. Some of us may have had the "money is no object" view, while others pinched their pennies. But, no matter how carefully you may plan, something that you didn't think of comes up. Library fines! lol Printing paper. This was expected, but I never thought I would go through 5 reams of paper in just a few months! Ink! I just recently estimated that I would use 6 xl cartridges of ink a year. At $40 a pop (without sales) that is $240!!! Gas for any extracurricular activities. Money spent on new curriculum when the first (or second, and third) just didn't work out. Anything else?
  10. Maybe the fish died and your dh bought a new one... and now he is saying it changed color?? ;)
  11. Let it go. Now, you have learned your lesson about letting her take your stuff. If she wants to see it, let her look through it at your home.
  12. I had the same problem. You have to click on add to cart on the whisper sale page. It is on the right hand side of what you want. If you click on the item you want to get details and THEN click add to cart, it gives you the "sale" price, not the "whisper sale" price. I did it and just bought it! (for free!)
  13. I'm wary about any sites that look like that type of advertising! Seems like a gimmick to me....? I don't know. IMO, a good phonics program, and reading more will improve reading. Speed reading teaches to read whole words or phrases by sight rather than decoding.
  14. :iagree: They will be fine! Assuming that there are no complications, then they will be good soon. We had to take our female cat back to the vet to get staples removed, but that was about 10 years ago!!! Procedures may have changed since then... ;)
  15. I figured if you didn't put CHICKEN in it, it couldn't be called chicken salad... You learn something new, every day. ;)
  16. Triggers for my dd and I are not eating regularly, missing out on sleep, allergies and certain smells. If my dd is disturbed while she is sleeping at night, it is almost guaranteed that she will have a headache in the morning. But, what I called headaches are really migraines. Sometimes she throws up from it. But, I know she is starting to get one when she acts crabby and covers one eye with her hand, or holds the side of her head. Dr. only said to make sure she gets regular sleep, does not skip a meal, and takes medicine at the FIRST sign of a migraine or headache.
  17. nm I didn't see that post above... just ignore me!!!!!!! http://www.redshift.com/~bonajo/fancy.htm#workbook2 I printed up copies of this that we are using for SOTW2. It might be too easy based on what you want, but it's a start!
  18. I've found that swallowing air works for me. It moves the stuff away from whatever is causing it...? I don't know... but it works!
  19. I put a wet cloth in the microwave and nuke it for about 30 seconds. Then put the dough in the microwave, with the cloth still in there. Works great. I also have a cabinet near my dishwasher that I use if I am washing dishes lol
  20. We use our garage door. There are too many locks on the front door for it to be easily used for us. That is the company door! The storm door has a key lock on it, the DOOR has a deadbolt and a bar lock on it. We keep shoes out in the garage, and the kids hang their snowy stuff out there too. Coats are hung up in the living room (by the front door). I want to eventually buy a bench for shoes and stuff to put in my garage by the house door. But, NO we do not, personally, use our front door lol
  21. I found out from my librarian that we have NO limit on books that we can check out. Limits on other stuff, yes. Books, no... So, I'm not going to try that here. lol
  22. We were the same way about buying pans. We bought the cheap teflon pans until they would get scratched up and unusable. :tongue_smilie: We finally took the plunge and bought Calphalon pans. It was only $200 for all the pans that we got. We have had them for almost 5 years and they are still going strong! http://www.amazon.com/Calphalon-Simply-Stainless-Piece-Cookware/dp/B001EJMSHE We have one more saucepan and lid, since this doesn't list the sizes, I don't know if it is larger or smaller! I'll never go back to teflon! I would, however upgrade to better Calphalon or All Clad.... :001_wub: ETA: You can't use metal utensils on these pans, and don't clean them with brillo pads. You are supposed to use Bar Keeper's Friend, and they stay nice and shiny every time! Unless you are like me, and don't clean the outside of your pan as good, and then the outside looks well loved, but the inside is very nonstick. :)
  23. We bought folding tables from a video store that went out of business for $20 each! I had been searching for a LONG time for a folding table that could be written on! All the others are made of bumpy plastic. These are each about 5'x3' long and we have one for each student. I use a little bit of room on each table for my stuff. We LOVE it, and I can use it for other things, or fold one out of the way if I needed to! So, my option would be neither of those, because I need more room to school, and I wouldn't pay any more money than I needed to! ETA: I see that you have five kids. The tables I am talking about would be able to fit up to 4 kids if you needed to, or two kids on one. My school room is big enough to have one table for each of my kids (with a lot of creativity to fit it in lol).
  24. We have two towel racks in our bathroom. One up high for Dh and I, and a double towel rack lower for the kids. Two kids towels in the front rack, and another on the back rack. We have a separate hand towel for washing hands. This prevents the kids from using my (or someone else's towel) to dry their hands, for the same reason as the OP. :tongue_smilie: We change hand towels often, and before guests come over. lol
