  1. I use Sonlight science. It has the lesson plan, worksheets and each year has its own kit. There is also a non consumable kit that you use. The rest of the stuff you supply yourself. Like water, ruler, etc.
  2. Stuff like that creeps me out. Sometimes I feel like we should build a wall around our house to keep that out... But, I live in Indiana, too and that would make people think that all homeschoolers are crazy. It sucks when a minority make the whole look bad...
  3. I'm interested in seeing if those 110 calorie drumsticks will satisfy MY craving... I don't like that they come in assorted packs. I think 110 calories are better than the 360 that a regular drumstick has!!!
  4. I had an ice cream when I was a kid that I LOVED! It was peanut butter cookie dough. I looked for it, and I can't find it ANYWHERE! I guess it used to be made by a company called Mayfield's, but they don't make that flavor anymore. Peanut butter cookie dough and ice cream... YUM!
  5. I'm pretty sure you can file a complaint with PayPal. Since the item was not as listed, there should be no reason that you should have to pay anything, or even send it back. Paypal has dispute resolution and I had to go through that before. I was the seller, and the buyer claimed that they did not receive the whole package (Textbook and workbook). This buyer was brand new to ebay, so I believe it was a con. Anyways.... Paypal took THEIR side and debited the money out of my account. It was after I filed a complaint with Paypal that I got that money back. I had to send the workbook that the buyer had sent to me after filing the complaint. I thought it suspicious that the most expensive book was the one that was claimed to be "missing". Before this issue, when I was new to ebay I had another problem where *I* was the buyer. I bought all my kids winter coats from ebay (certain college football team, not in my area!). One coat was a reversible coat that the zipper was replaced with a NON reversible zipper. There were holes where buttons were missing.... She told me that I could ship it back to her and she would refund my purchase price... I paid $4 shipping, and $3 for the coat. I am NOT going to pay another $4 to ship back! I just kept it. If I would have known what I know now, I would have filed a dispute. She listed it in like new condition. I hope you get this resolved!!!
  6. It could be a keylogger on a computer where the email account was accessed. Once they get the passwords, they can hack into the account(s). I am currently dealing with DH's computer with some bad trojans. His work doesn't allow AV programs on their laptops! One part of the infection was sending emails from his computer, but the "sent" emails weren't his email. Just the recipient's email mirrored back to them. It also blocked access from any antispyware/malware sites. It took a while, but it's better, now.
  7. The highschool I went to, and my niece goes to now does a different type of block scheduling. Instead of two semesters with 7 classes each, they have three trimesters with 5 classes each. You go to the 5 classes every day for a longer stretch of time. Something like an hour and 15 min per day instead of 50 min per day. You end up getting one more class in per year than the other way. I LOVED it! They didn't give out more homework, but they did teach more. Plus, there was more time in class to actually DO the homework. It also made your days go by quicker! The lunches were split into 3. Schedule A would have 2 classes, lunch, then 3 more classes. Schedule B would have 2 classes, HALF a class, lunch, finish that class, then 2 more classes Schedule C would have 3 classes, lunch, then 2 more classes. I was only part of schedule A so I don't know how the splitting up a class would work, but at the time there were way too many students to keep it to only 2 lunches. I'll have to ask if the remodeling that they did changed the lunch schedule!
  8. My 2nd and 3rd were the only ones who used a paci. They preferred the Mam Ulti ones. I think that's what they were called LOL! Been a while! Anyways, my 2nd just NEEDED something in her mouth constantly. Even switching to the other side while nursing, she would have her fingers in her mouth to suck.... I mean, it only takes a few seconds, girl! Goodness! Once letdown was done, she was done with the boob and wanted the paci. I felt used :001_huh: My 3rd used it, also, but she didn't have the NEED for it. My oldest would never use them, but she was a GOOD baby and didn't need it. (Read: *I* didn't need it for her lol) I agree with a PP who said just to hold it in their mouth until they suck. When they get it, they get it.
  9. I was reading the OP and thought "Yes, I hear them in my head"... Until the next poster talked about speedreading, and the next post after that talked about pictures. I can read books in a couple hours. I've read a whole series of books (10 books, all about 300 pages) in less than a week... I see pictures, and I hear words, but not ALL the words. If I am concentrating on a certain part, if I didn't understand it correctly, I hear words, but usually my eyes skip on a few words at a time, and I still comprehend it. If I am reading a guide or something that tells how to do something, I read it slower. IDK, it sounded so simple at first lol!
  10. No. DH spoils the kids too much for us to have a set dessert/junk snack. When he is home there are movie parties, popcorn, ice cream etc... :) Recently, there's been s'mores. But, not any regular s'mores, but s'mores made with other candies besides Hershey's... like Reese's PB cups... He also has "junk sandwiches" which is PB and WHATEVER else you want... chips, candy, etc... yuk!
  11. I use it. But this is my first year with SL. I don't know any better. I opened this thread because I am interested in starting a different LA, but I need more research to decode the abbreviations you all use! LOL BTW I'm new to this forum :)
  12. I used to work at a restaurant that had hard boiled eggs. They bought them that way. They came in a bag soaked in something. I heard from a manager that there is something that they are put in that eats away at the shell...? Yuck! But, I did find some eggs that had partial shells on them, and they were soft and flexible, so it makes me think that he was right.
