  1. I am sure that you will do great and this sounds like a wonderful opportunity for both of you. And of course, you will still be a homeschooler. I think that it is something we are in our heart not just a way of schooling our children. I have one in PS this year but she is still homeschooled, she just goes to PS a few hours each day. :) Yeah, it has it's rough spots but you adjust, you stretch, you grow and then incorporate and move on. Your powers of organization far surpass my own so I know if I can adjust to PS then you will do great in your new schooling situation. Good luck to both of you. :grouphug:
  2. And working hard every day to make it one more year.
  3. My youngest just turned 9 and my first grandbaby is two weeks old. My hubby had the surgery eight years ago but we considered a reversal about two or three years ago. Luckily, I got over that and moved on to the next stage in life. I am happy with where I am now. :)
  4. What is a reasonable time to expect them go to sleep? It is 10:00 and they aren't showing the slightest sign of being sleepy but I am dead tired as I didn't sleep at all last night. Of course, I can't go to sleep until they are at least laying down trying to go to sleep. The older I get the harder this gets.
  5. I get a noticably different response when I have four or more with me than I do when I have three or less. Of course, when people see me with a slew of girls they just assume that I am trying for a boy. When I tell them that my oldest is a boy then they want to know why I had so many. Someone just recently asked if we were planning on having any more now that the youngest is 9. No, I don't have to. I have a grandchild now. Yeah!
  6. :grouphug: What a week. Sounds like you need a little wine. I am enjoying a glass of my own as I have eight 9 yr. olds running around screaming at my dd's birthday party.
  7. the changed to self check-out and now I don't see any actual people when I go to the library. All holds (including inter-library loan) are put on a shelf which you get and check out yourself. Returns are dropped in a bin and otherwise you just find your books and check them out yourself. If you can't find something on the shelf then you can ask for help but most of the time they can't find it either. Before that I knew all of the librarians and talked to the every weekend when we went.
  8. 2 Sundays 1 Monday 1 Tuesday 1 Wednesday 1 Thursday 1 Friday 1 Saturday The Sundays were my oldest and youngest.
  9. I do agree with the poster who mentioned that manic-depressive and bi-polar are the same thing and therefore that part was a little confusing to me but I see the humor just the same. My dd has the british guy saved on her phone and we listen to it whenever we want to lighten the mood. Sometime you either need to laugh or cry. I chose to laugh whenever I can and save the crying for when I can't laugh. :tongue_smilie:
  10. I spend one on one time with each of my kids daily. I find it works better to take care of the youngers first, earlier in the day, usually around the time I do their school work with them, which they also do individually and then they are free to play or read or whatever while I move on to the next child. I usually get all of the kids in like this. Older kids that are not currently working or talking with me can help or watch youngers if need be. I take time for myself early in the morning or late a night when I am not working with kids. Hubby is only home on weekends. He takes time for daddy dates with them then and time he is not spending with them is reserved for mommy/daddy time. This takes all of my time though and I don't know how people with more kids than me fit it all in.
  11. My moods starts to pick up as soon as the weather cools down. I love everything about fall (it is truely the perfect season) for the entire season. I also like winter but it begins to lose it's appeal long about February.
  12. My dh has two credit cards that he uses for his traveling expenses related to his job as a consultant. He pays them off every time he is reimbursed for expenses. We do not have any credit cards for personal use. Unfortunately we do have a mortgage, car payment and student loan debt. Our cars frequently get paid off but I don't know if I will live to see the end of the mortgage and student loan payments.
  13. It is amazing that a company thinks that they could make any money this way. Reassure your mom and then write a letter to the company and let them know that you do not appreciate their tactics.
  14. :iagree: Permission granted. Take a break already. School will wait, a breakdown might not. Nine is still very young and you have lots of time. Really.
  15. If you don't have any hives, your breathing is fine and your heart rate is ok then it sounds like the worst of the allergic reaction is over and they really can't do anything else for you. I am allergic to fish products and iodine. I have only had to go to the hospital once and that was because I was having trouble breathing. Even then they gave me Benedryl as soon as they dealt with the immediate problem. Do not eat any more fish products or nuts of any kind. Allergies can get worse over time and the reactions can get more severe. Reactions of the mouth and breathing passages are especially worrisome. You might want to talk to your Dr. about getting some Xanax to deal with panic issues related to this because that can further compromise your breathing. Hope you are feeling better soon.
  16. I can't find the answers in the book and I can't find an answer book available anywhere.
  17. Usually lease allow 60 days notice. Of course, that remove the stress of moving but it should give you a little more time. So sorry. It really rough to move epsecially when you don't want to. Wishing you the best of luck.
  18. We like to go out to eat, go to the movies, the bookstore, Starbucks. Some things that don't cost money: the library, watching TV or a movie without children, listening to music, going for a walk, just running errands without the kids. Unfortunately, he is only home two days a week so our time is limited.
  19. My hubby's dr. put him on fish oil and red rice yeast and it lowered his cholesterol and triglycerides without any other adjustments. He also recommened lowering his carbs but hubby hasn't done that yet. Congratulations on the weight lose. That no small accomplishment.
  20. Well, I wish you were here. I have at least $30 in quarters. I save all of my change. It is my vacation fund but every now and then my dh raids it to wash the car and doesn't replace it with any other money! I told him that at this rate I will never get a vacation. I can see where it would be irritating if I needed it now. So sorry.
