  1. I have to review the following programs: Latin's Not So Tough, Getting Started in Latin, Minimus, Latin for Children, Lively Latin & Latin Prep. I would like to work through them from easiest to hardest as I don't have any Latin. We are currently working through the early books of LNST and it seems fairly easy as it is mostly vocabulary. We are also using Getting Started . . . which is a very easy gradual intro. Right now I am printing Lively Latin and I am not sure exactly what age group this is for. The reading seems advanced for 3rd grade but the activities seem young for 5th or 6th grade. I have briefly looked through Minimus and Latin for children but I am not sure which would be easier or for a younger age. Latin Prep seem to be the most advanced.
  2. Hubby and I have been married since 1990. I have six dc (b25, g22, g16, g14, g11 & g8) and two step-dc and first grandbaby on the way (Yay! I can't wait). We have lived in Middle TN for five years now and are planning on making this our forever home. I have homeschooled since 1995 and been here since 2002. I used TWTM as a starting point and then kind of created my own curriculum from there. Here are some of the things that we are using: Grammar: Growing with Grammar, Easy Grammar and Analytical Grammar. Writing: Writing Tales, Wordsmith Craftsman and Put That In Writing. Latin: Latin's Not So Tough & Getting Started in Latin. Math: Singapore, Mastering Mathematics, Math-U-See and Teaching Textbooks. Science: Education Exploration, PAC Integrated Chemistry & Physics and Holt Biology (I think). History: Parragon World History Encyclopedia, SYRWTL Junior History, History of US and A Human Odyssey. I am writing a homeschool curriculum guide, although I haven't worked on it in 5 months as life as kind of gotten in the way (buying a house, moving, mono, teen problems). Things have just recently calmed down some and I am getting a maid so I think that I will be back on track soon. The avatar is me and my hubby. This is a picture from Christmas that my dd paid for as my Christmas present. I have pictures of the whole family which I will try to get around to posting soon. It's late and that's all I can think of right now.
  3. From what I can tell it doesn't seem to be related to if you have read them or not.
  4. It's like that feeling you get when you have been in the cold to long - right before you go numb and lose all feeling. There is no obvious damage and the skin is not red. It started in one location about three days ago and is slowing speading to my whole body. It is reaching a point where it hurts to just lie on my flannel sheets. I have a humidifier running and I am using Lanocaine but it is getting pretty hard to reach my whole body. Anti-inflammitories and Benedryl are not touching it. Any ideas on what this might be?
  5. This is a book that discusses the differences between bio-identical hormones and the chemical ones. It's a big book but lots of very important information. You can probably get it at your library. I know if I needed hormones that is the way that I would go. Good luck with this.
  6. I hope you are doing well and that your recovery will be easy. Also hope all of your pain is gone soon.
  7. I am so glad that you heard from him and that he is safe and well. Hopefully this was the push he needed to get straightened out. I think of you and Chris in Va. everyday as I deal with some of the same struggles. God, give us the strength to deal with our children and guide them on the right path.
