We used it last year, it has all the same info as the audio CD, plus visual. No bugs last year. It kind of replaced me having to lead review, we used CC as ann"extra", I just handed off the iPad and said, do weeks such and such. Kids preferred it to the Cd, which we also had. It is pricey, and for the price I would have liked some additional features. But, if we had continued with CC I would have purchased again. You do have to purchase it each cycle.

We have done MP 1-3, we have enjoyed the read alouds but I have found most of them at the library. Ordering the package is great for convenience but there have only been a couple that I felt we really needed to own. And there have only been a couple that I was glad that I had not purchased! My 3rd grader likes to listen in to most the first grade read alouds and vice versa.

Yes this is true. In the last month there has been much talk in IN regarding just this exact thing, rushing thru standards that are just a revamp of CC. Given this I am puzzled over the reporting that this is some kind of victory. I guess it is a victory over the reporting or something? Color me confused!

I use one box, one set of cards and one set of dividers. My kids are in AAS 1 and 4, so are far enough apart that they don't overlap cards. I keep one kid's cards paper clipped together within the appropriate divided section. My DH finds my set up way confusing, so on the occasion that he does school,he doesn't usually help with AAS unless I set it out just so. This works for me, but it would be easier to have two boxes.

Definitely take the online Youth Protection, you just have to register as a user then watch the videos and answer questions along the way, it will only take about half an hour and will prepare you to write a well-informed letter. I am in the minority, but I think it is the hostess' responsibility to make her guests feel welcome, especially the guests of honor and guests who are not family (in this case your parents), and would not have a problem asking people not to bring alcohol. So based on that I think you could make such a request. Actually, I would feel uncomfortable bringing alcohol to someone else's party unless it was a hostess gift or a "bring your own" party. Your husband's opinion complicates things a bit, as others have said, he knows their reaction best. It may cause more trouble than it is worth. Definitely let your parents know what to expect.

A school where homeschooled kids take classes with a teacher. The ones I am familiar with meet once or twice (maybe) a week. Much varies from school to school. Differs from a coop in that it usually costs more and there is less parental involvement in making the school run.

I made progress in The History of the Ancient World. I have started Anne of Green Gables, she is refreshing and fun so far, I hope she atys that way! I also started listening to Little Women, which I read as a kid, but only remember bits and pieces. This is a lot for me, I am very happy with my start.

Can anyone help me? I am trying to make the aluminum star in the wise men lesson. You use 8 squares. First step is. Fold in half. Next step is to fold top left corner down to make a pocket. Then you are to fold bottom right corner up to make a parallelogram. I cannot do this third Step. If you know what I am talking about can you point me towards a visual, I searched but am not finding any instructions that seem similar. Thank you in advance.

The lessons are scheduled over five days, but I find days four and five easy to combine. Day five seems light to me, and we have a one day co-op, so it works well for us. Hands on - not really but I gather from their forums that plans are in the works for some grades. The second grade Latin is totally doable for moms with no Latin, my DS loves Latin! It is a great intro.

I am joining this year, my reading (for self) has been slim for the last 8 years. I am currently reading The History of the Ancient World which I started about this time last year. I am about 1/4 of the way through. I will need to find something else to read with it so that I do not have to slow of a start, I am thinking Anne of Green Gables asI have never read it.

My DS is in 2nd and we are doing mostly MP. I have him read the books you mentioned aloud to me, we had read them as read alouds ( reading to him) prior to this year. I also have him read 30 minutes on his own most days, chapter books of his choice mostly. I hate to admit, but my reading to him is sporadic, something I aim to improve this semester. Edit to add, he also reads some on his own, without being told to, but not a lot.
