  1. Uh, yeah, I forgot that I even had that CD. I agree with others, if you don't feel a need for it, you probably don't need it.
  2. Could you just address the salary matter by stating you are happy to discuss an appropriate salary with them? And be ready to talk about in the interview.
  3. Telling God's Story might work. I don't think it would be too young for a 2nd grader, but I have not actually used it yet.
  4. I feel for you. :grouphug: Someone mentioned helping him transfer his anger to something else.....it made me think of a "stress ball", something he could carry around and squeeze when he gets angry, maybe that would be useful.
  5. I liked nursing tanks because they covered my stomach. For example, when you pull your shirt up....stomach is still covered, just made me more comfortable.
  6. You might want to look around on their website. I found a lesson plan for pre-level one, it is 5 days, but includes time for exploring beyond their materials and doing the experiment a second time, they also suggested pacing depending upon the age of the child. If they have the same type of thing for level one, it could give you some suggestions and you could take it from there. The plan I found was in the free extras section. We have not yet started!
  7. If she colored your hair as a favor to you, maybe you should mail it since you can't get it to her. If you paid her to color your hair, then you have made a good effort, get rid of it and move on, since you are moving...
  8. Thank you for the limited response, it is such a great reminder, just what I needed to hear today!
  9. Thank you for the explanation. I also looked on the website and did not find information about the 30% off or the platinum plan etc. Now I understand!
  10. I don't really understand what audible is about. Until today I thought it was just a place to purchase audio, but now I see you need to pay a monthly fee to purchase from audible. Why? Is there no where else to purchase audio books in the mp3 format?
  11. If you are in the area, Heart N Home homeschool group has one that you can print off after joining the group. (It is a goup in the Floyd/ Clark county area) But like others said, there are lots of ways to obtain one.
  12. I just clicked to join. We used LHFHG last year and will be using Beyond this year.
  13. We did a lesson a week (about 2 pages a day) and did ETC 1-3 last year. DS was 5 1/2 when we started. I used OPGTR to teach phonics and used ETC as a review, meaning it was somewhat behind where we were in phonics, which we started at 5, slowly. When we started out DS was slowly sounding out words in BOB books as far as reading level. I think ETC is very flexible, as in how to use it with various reading levels. DS was not a happy writer, so we kept it to 2 pages a day, pairing pages that had more writing and less writing. Hope that helps!
  14. :iagree:Do that if you all really love SL, because I had all my Sonlight for K last year and ended up doing HOD instead! (But we did alot of that Sonlight "on the side") We had a great time with HOD:tongue_smilie:
  15. There is an awful rash you can get while pregnant. I got it with my first but not my second. I think it is PUPP or something like that. Look into it. Hope you feel better soon.
  16. You have a great space! Thanks for sharing, I think I am going to use your cube idea, I have been looking for a way to obtain more wall space by getting rid of our bookshelves, making the switch to cubes might work perfectly, and I never would have thought of it (altho I already have some for toys).
  17. Spicy Honey Chicken Salad from our best bites dot com I also noticed a steak one I am going to try this weekend. I tried posting earlier, but I guess I shouldn't have linked to another site or something. This salad is one of my favorite dinners ever, DH likes it too.
  18. http://www.ourbestbites.com/2009/05/spicy-honey-chicken-salad/ one of my favorite meals ever
  19. I would suggest B. We started out with A for K this year, got thru it all and started B in March. (DS is not a math genius, but I think he is pretty smart all-around:D) There were many lessons in B meant to skip if you had done A, so we did that and I expect to be half way thru B by the end of our year in a couple of weeks. DS and I have both enjoyed B more than A, but I am not sure why. I like alot about RS, but the spiral approach annoys me (once we get rolling on a topic we switch to another), I think I will be easing into Singapore this summer and may drop RS in the Fall if we like Singapore better. I love the fact that RS does not require much writing, definitely a huge positive. Edited to add that DS started K as a 5 year old, January bday. FWIW
  20. My copy also has 104 pages. Copyright 2001 SMF Press I purchased it from HOD. I am guessing yours may be another edition, version, whatever.
  21. Thank you for sharing, I think we will enjoy using this!
  22. I voted other. We usually call it the car. But if I were talking about it about vehicles I would call it an SUV, as in "I drive a black SUV"
  23. I think you will be very happy with HOD. This year we are doing LHFHG for K. I had thought I was going to use SL Core K and even purchased it, but once I got it I did not like it as much as I had imagined. The Bible in SL is just reading stories, but HOD ties it all together (as others have said). I sent much of SL back, but kept alot of the books just to read. I do not feel that I need to add to HOD. But we did do many more read-alouds, basically on our "own" time. We have enjoyed all the Burgess books, DS LOVES them, but if they do not fit your child's interest you could find them boring I suppose and may want to substitute. HOD science is very light, so if this is an interest of your child's you may want to find more books to read in that area. I love how HOD ties everything together, I dont' think DS learned any"new" science from HOD, but we had fun doing the topics that tied into our history/Bible, and read lots of other interest led science books.
