  1. Pointelle silk long johns. Worth every penny and easy to wash, drip-dry or toss in the dryer. Best, thinnest, not too tight, least sweaty first layer I've found. Don't forget socks, slippers or lined boots, and then layer up. Silly as a hat and scarf sound inside...they help oodles. http://www.landsend.com/ix/outerwear/Outerwear/Women/Long-Underwear/index.html?seq=1~2~3~4&catNumbers=1028~1029~1037&visible=1~2~1~1&store=le&sort=Recommended&pageSize=12&tab=7&cm_mmc=44577334 http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?page=silk-pointelle-camisole&categoryId=23880&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1 PS...both Land's End and LL Bean stand by their products if you aren't uber satsfied. I've had my first set for four years and purchased two more last year. Those babies are always on my wish list. And I own half a dozen zip up fleece jackets, my favorite top layer inside.
  2. I'd check out the flat rate boxes too. You can also check shipping charges on line with UPS and Fed Ex, the PO may also have on-line info. The sites are easy too; just type in the size of the box, weight and it calculates the cost for you. Our PO has an automatic shipping machine in the lobby 24 hours. It's easy to use and you could get an exact cost.
  3. Don't be too hard on yourself or him. I think your sweet to worry and work with him. It just isn't easy dealing with the differences and complexities of our kids. Everyone (especially shy or introverted) kids need to find their way of dealing with these issues. Everyone is different, every teacher is different and for many... asking simply takes more thought, time and work.:grouphug:
  4. They sound so good, man I'd love one and wish they had been more affordable when my last oven went. Shoot...I also wonder about replacing my toaster oven with a counter model. Sam's had one, I think a Wolfgang Puck (sp?) that looked good, but kind of big. Anyone have a counter model they like?
  5. 9:30 - 3:30 = Deal breaker for me. Academics slipping are where I'd put my focus as a teaching parent. Socializing is fun and important, but easier to schedule or catch up on than the three Rs. jm2cents and ymmv
  6. Your poor kiddo. Why do so many people who don't enjoy kids go into teaching? Kids ask questions...lots and lots of questions. Sounds like the teacher could use a little teaching herself. Maybe you can you try to get a partial refund? At the very least let them know how you feel. Aftr...I think it stinks, when adults squash a child's love of learning.
  7. Just tell them you're having a bad day and how happy you are to have someone to unload on:bigear:;). Share away and I'm sure they'll take you off their list. I've turned a toddler on them in the past and the calls stopped. Mom always taught us to be polite, but I learned to just hang up without a word now. We are on the do not call list, but if you do any business with a company; they have the right to call you:001_huh:. I have been know to say..."We are on the do not call list or remove us from your list." I'm dreading, dreading the next election; they are exempt. :tongue_smilie:
  8. :grouphug: I'm sure it will be fine. Let us know how it goes.
  9. Cute, and great work. Wow, leotards...I was think Leo Halloween costume, but those are super sweet.
  10. :grouphug: You poor thing. My first was like this for a while until she dropped. Hang in there.
  11. :grouphug:Prayers for Luke and Emmy's family.:grouphug:
  12. We stay home Monday through Friday until after 3:00 to get the lesson work done. Many days we don't leave our neighborhood until the weekend. We did get out a lot more when they were younger, but it just doesn't fit into our daily schedule anymore. If we do have to leave the house on a week day I schedule it late and it must be important like an ortho, dental or medical appointment of a class; but I squeeze in as many lessons before as possible and limit these. My kids know I place our lessons as my daily top priority...kwim:001_smile: Given the choice my ds would be outside or play video all day and dd would hang at the mall.:D I do my shopping on the weekend now.
  13. Dd M-F 8:30 -3:30 This is an average day with 30 minutes for lunch. Homework occasionally takes her past 3:30. Health 1/2 credit 1st semester. Speech 2nd semester World History Physical Science Algebra English Art PE She volunteers at the library and takes classes in art, but those aren't scheduled during school hours.
  14. :iagree: :iagree: Personally, I love nt posts because they help me so much.;) Where is the board fairy...
  15. Nope, but he wears a suit everyday. I wonder if the office has a policy on kilts?
  16. Sounds yummy:001_smile:. Sorry for the high-jack. Maybe we should start an I love my Kitchen-aid X because thread. Op...I used my bread machine to make dough only for a few years because of the bump in the bottom and uneven cooking. Another option, but I enjoyed the counter space freed up from the bread machine.
  17. Yikes...Pretty scary stuff. I'm with Jean on replacing both the outlet and fan. Glad y'all are ok.
  18. :bigear:What do you make in yours? I'm trying to justify this in my head too and this may require a list of sorts.
  19. I use mine for just about everything. Pizza dough, Artisan bread dough (weekly Oct-May), cake batter, cookie dough, banana bread. Mine is a work horse that frankly I thought would never be worth the money. Dh spoiled me with one he picked up on sale at Kohl's with a big coupon. Never would I have spent that much on myself, but it is one of those great gifts I'm still using year after year. A dough hook comes with the mixer that works very well without sticking. I make Artisan, white/cheese & onion and wheat breads without any problem. I hope everyone will chime with their experiences;). Tammy~ Converted Kitchen-aid appliance lover. I'm hoping hubby will treat me to the food-processor next.
  20. I hear ya! I keep looking at my youngest and thinking, we just need a few more years.:glare:
