  1. Back in March, I requested prayers for a job interview (link to that thread) I was notified last night that I begin my full-time position on Monday! I've been at the job part-time since January 2012. It's good to finally get the full-time position. Thank you for all the prayers!
  2. Some of you know the background story on this, but I'll briefly share for those that don't. Dh had a minor stroke a couple of years ago and ended up losing his CDL because of it, which cost him his job as a truck driver. At the age of nearly 60 he had to make a choice to retrain for another profession. He enrolled in a program in pharmacy technology and did an excellent job getting through it. He's now graduating, is licensed and is finally able to apply for jobs in his new field. He's been out of work for over 18 months now and we desperately need the income. This has been a real matter o
  3. I am requesting prayers for a job interview scheduled for tomorrow at 1pm. I am currently working part time and the position is the same job but full time. Thank you. ¶ UPDATE ¶ (My enter key is not working!) ¶ Thanks for all your prayers. ¶ I just got back from the interview. It went very well. There is still another person they will interview, so it will be at least a few more days before I will know if I got the job. Thanks again.
  4. This is an interview for a job...it's a paying job I can work from home, but I'll equate it to working at Wal Mart full time in how I feei about the job. Please pray that the interview will go well, and that I will at least have the option to take the job! It doesn't have to pay a lot, just enough, IYKWIM. I also have my resume in for an excellent position, but I haven't heard anything on (and honestly, probably won't for at least another week, and then, if I don't hear anything in the next two weeks, won't hear anything until after the New Year). Please pray for patience and peace wit
  5. I know I don't post much, but I could use all the good thoughts and prayers people are willing to send. Desmond my 5 year old fell 3 stories face first onto concrete out of Eloise, his 3 year old sister's, bedroom where he and Eloise were playing, this afternoon. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Desmond is doing okay. He is stable. He doesn't appear to have any spinal damage. Right now we are in a waiting game. The next 48 to 72 hours are critical, he is sedated, he has a little blood in the front of his brain where he hit the ground. He is moving all his limbs. Right now
  6. I'm working w/ some homeschoolers in Bastrop, TX, who have lost everything due to devastating fires in that area over Labor Day weekend. I just got an email from one of the three coordinators on the ground that there is a new, rather large fire that just started near her home. It is a very emotional time down there and the word "fire" can send chills down your spine. She is only a mile outside of the burn zone from the Labor Day weekend fires and was thankfully spared the last time fires swept through the area. She is very worried about this new fire. Please pray for her safety, the safety of
  7. Hey folks. I cannot really go into too much detail without breaking board rules, but am experiencing huge stress in most areas of my life right now: emotional and physical health. marriage, parenting, finances, external family, art block, etc. I am doing my best to keep afloat, and to be true to myself, but I have to be honest and say that I am really struggling right now. I am posting here because I am feeling very alone IRL. I am okay, and don't want y'all to worry or feel pity, or that you need to give me advice: I am in counseling, and am getting proffesional advice and help for as m
  8. With the economy and housing market being what it is, I hope the Admin folks don't mind me creating a separate thread for the Homes for Sale prayer list in an effort to reach more prayer partners than just those who are subscribed to the thread regarding the sale of my home (http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?p=203900#poststop). If you are so inclined, please remember these ladies in your prayers for the sale of their respective homes! Also, if your name is on this list, please update us as you are able. Additionally, if you have a home to sell and would like your name
  9. (Quoted from the FIAR forum) She is a Christian author and her husband works for Ryan Dobson's "Grounded Radio." Joanne is in her late 30's but suffered a major stroke yesterday. She needs our prayers. The Simple Wife
  10. The family I have been providing respite care to for the last 7 yrs is moving on Sunday, across country. I have been working 10 to 15 hours a day for the last 3 weeks. I am exhausted, but have also been enjoying it. I am basically soaking myself in the 4.5 yr and 18 yr old girls, enjoying every minute of caring for them. But I am ti.erd. One more day, and then I have 9 weeks of summer "vacation" before I start my new nanny gig in late August. I put that in quotes, because I will still be busy, helping to move my mom into a memory care facility, and getting her house empty and on the marke
  11. Hey friends. Care for an update from your favorite turtle-with-a porcupine-name? Dy is doing well, healing nicely. I have worked my tushy off watching the kids, cleaning, cooking, etc, and have honestly loved every minute of it. Zorak and I took the kids trick or treating, I took them to piano and guitar, took them for long nature walks, supervised school, did art lessons, picture study, read out loud, etc with them. Good stuff. Dy is feeling better now, and we were just starting to be able to do some fun stuff together, but my Man is not doing well. I don't want to go into too many de
  12. Some of you may remember this post, and this post, about the weird bruising I had in late August. Well, it came back- Thursday night I was hit by this wave of exhaustion, just plum wore out- I crashed hard, but then couldn't sleep all night. While I was up around midnight, I noticed a new bunch of petechiae/purpura on my right arm. First batch had been on left arm. I called to Dr.'s office, they got me in right away (which always freaks me out a bit- no waiting in the outer room, always seems to mean it's serious), and she wants to send me to a hematologist right away. I have an appt. late
  13. The interview came through a homeschool mom I am blessed to be friends with. He hesitated following up because he does not have industry experience. He does, however, have a skill set, experience and education that matches the needs involved in the job. It turns out he'd like the job very much. It would get him back into a professional level, salaried position doing interesting work. He'd quit bus driving and we'd have income *and* benefits (something we don't have in combination with the bus driving - it only covers benefits.) He finished the first interview and that person is rec
  14. OK, this is going to sound very silly. We've always been dog people. We're on our 2nd full blooded yellow lab...fox red color! Our dd has been wanting a cat...what little girl doesn't???;) We're considering it a Christmas gift. We have a networking advantage of letting people know we're interested in adopting a cat. Then a situation came up. My friend "B" has a friend "S". A situation came up for S who is an animal lover. She took in and is fostering 2 cats because the original owner couldn't keep them any longer. They are bi-color, blue point ragdoll cats, 2 1/2 years old.
  15. Please pray for my dh. He's been having problems for over a week and has been going for various tests. Based on the MRI the GI doctor told him he needs to have his gallbladder removed, but today he also got a call about the MRI from his regular doctor's office. He was told that there's a "small lesion" on his left kidney. He's having a CT scan at 2pm today. Please pray that this is benign. And please pray that I can keep from falling apart while we wait...I lost my dad to kidney cancer when I was young. Evening update...no call with results (even though I was told they'd have th
  16. Ds16's PO is going to "violate" him--I don't want him to go to jail, but I can't stop the consequence. No comments needed, just hugs and prayers. Pray especially that he won't lose heart, that this will not inspire anger but inspire change, and that my heart will just stop breaking at some point. Thanks Sorry for the misspelled title.
  17. A wonderful lady and friend of our family was in a horrible collision. She was due with twins this week. Both babies are dead and she has a broken pelvis and jaw. I know very few details, but this I do know, your prayers for strength and healing and for her and her family to turn to our Lord and Savior and not away are desperately needed.
  18. Hello, I am humbly asking for a prayer request for my fil who is in grave condition. He is trying hard to recover after an emergency surgery that has resulted in life threatening complications. His name is Merlin. Thank you.
