  1. I read that adding Tang to your wash will eliminate the white residue that results from the phosphate free soap. I haven't tried it yet, but plan on it! Anything to get rid of that disgusting chalky whit stuff!
  2. California. Born and raised there....wouldn't go back if you paid me!
  3. Awww....it's all in good fun. Why would you call the mom? Have they been continuously harassing you? For a one time crank call, i'd let it go. I don't know, my friends and I did silly stuff like that all the time.....
  4. I had mine after my third baby. I knew we were done and don't regret it. I had my first child when I was 18 and my youngest at 30. One in between. They were spread just far enough apart that I was changing diapers for 14 yrs. Yeah, i'm done with babies:tongue_smilie: I haven't had any weight issues...or any issues for that matter.
  5. Mine used to be I'll Be by Edwin McCain. It was our wedding song and I loved it.....until our wedding. We were married with a small, spur of the moment, outdoor ceremony. Most of our family came, even with just a days notice. DH knew this was my favorite song and surprised me by having it played when I walked down the aisle. So sweet, however when I got down the aisle the lady officiating just let it play. And play. And play. The entire song was played while we just stood there trying not to laugh. Don't they normally cut the music when you reach the alter? Anyway, now the song just reminds me of feeling totally awkward and I have no favorite "love song":) ETA: I do love The Wonder of You by Elvis:)
  6. I read The Lightening Thief with the kids last week. I also finally got around to reading The Help....finished it in less than a day, just could not put it down!! I anticipate finishing Jane Eyre tonight (finally!). It has taken me almost two weeks to get through Jane Eyre. I thought I would enjoy it a lot more than I have. At this point I am just finishing it for the sake if finishing it. Oh well. This week I will be reading The Lost Boy by David Pelzer about his life growing up in the foster care system. 2011 reading so far: 1. Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl 2. Switched by Amanda Hocking 3. Torn by Amanda Hocking 4. Ascend by Amanda Hocking 5. Hollowland by Amanda Hocking 6. The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jaime Ford 7. One Second After by William Forschten 8. Escape by Carolyn Jessup 9. The Lightening Thief 10. The Help by Katherine Stockett 11. Jane Eyre by Bronte
  7. Oh yeah, the library borrowing is awesome!!!! That is the Nook's greatest attribute IMO!
  8. Oh geez, I'm a worrier too! So, no advice but I sure hope he walks in any minute to relieve your anxiety!!
  9. Oh man.....that reminds me of SO many conversations I had about my dd. I am so happy to no longer be dealing with IEP's and the "smart" people at the school!
  10. I took my kids the first time I went to one. Big mistake. They enjoyed the children's classes, but were bored the rest of the time. I can't blame them. I would have cried if my mom made me stand around for hours while she looked through books! I didn't make it to any of the seminars that year. I knew I wouldn't be able to concentrate while dealing with three bored kids! So, now they stay with dad or another relative. They're happier and i'm happier.
  11. I can't even imagine what your cousin us going through right now. And the poor, sweet baby.....what a tragic accident. :grouphug:
  12. :iagree: I bought this for my grandpa for Christmas and he is really enjoying it!
  13. I had braces for 6 years (yeah, my teeth were seriously messed up!!). I didn't change my eating habits. I ate everything on the no-no list and never had problems. Same with my dd. She has had her braces for about 3 years now. She just finished eating a bowl of popcorn:001_huh: We're rebels I guess. Sorry, I know that doesn't help!!
  14. Unfortunately, I can't read much on my phone. I have tried but I think the print is just too small and the back lighting bothers me. If I read on it for more than 15 minutes, my eyes end up bloodshot and I feel sick:001_huh:
  15. I went with the Nook solely because of the library lending feature. I was spending too much just using the Kindle app on my iPhone.
  16. My kids get along VERY well. They are far in age (14,7,3), but play well together. They always look out for each other. I think part of it is that my oldest is special needs and the younger two are used to "different" behavior. So, they are very patient and tolerant if one another. I also think part of it is just their personalities. They are all different and just fit well together. The oldest is the mellow, go along with anything type, the middle the leader, and the youngest the follower. It all works out:)
  17. Last week I read One Second After by William Forschten and Escape by Carolyn Jessop. I enjoyed them both....good reading week:) I started reading The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie yesterday. I am only about 60 pages it. Please tell me it gets better. I am bored to tears! I think i'll check out a Ted Dekker book this week as well. I have heard he's really good.
  18. If you decide to make the trip to Huntsville, maybe you could also check out Harmony Park. It's a short drive from the Space Center. You get to drive through and feed the animals (emus, zebra,, camels, rams, buffalo, etc.). We loved it. They came right up to the window to eat out of our hand. We all had a good laugh that day.
  19. I paid $25 for my steam mop:). It works perfect. It has a removable pad you take off and wash. I vacuum first, then run the mop over it. So easy.
  20. I use a steam mop on my laminate floor. It's a generic brand from Home Depot. I LOVE it! Minimal effort on my part and no chemicals to buy. I can't believe I waited so long to buy one!
  21. Growing up, it was the first house I remember. We lived there from the time I was about 2 until I was 7. I lived in our next house practically until I was married, but it never felt like "home". As for my "married" home, our current feels most like home to me. This is our third house. We've lived here the longest and have already made wonderful memories here. I have no desire to move:)
