  1. Prayers. (My sister did great with that procedure, praying you have the same results).
  2. I've been off track movement wise lately-in small leading to bigger ways. I know some really intense stuff is coming up soon with resulting resulting time pressure. This pattern, multiple times in the past, has led to getting completely off track and pretty much stopping my movement for long periods until something motivates me to do the hard work of starting again. Basically, I really need to stay in routine. So I'm trying to get back on full course this week. I forgot to post last night on yesterday's thread, so I'll just put both days here instead of bumping the thread up. Monday--45 minutes on my bike Today--45 minutes on my bike (in 2 sessions, w/interruption), a short pilates session focusing on arms/back/core
  3. I do 16/8. I eat no earlier than 12 noon (usually 12:30/1-whenever I start to feel hungry) to 8 pm. When I started eating earlier and fasted in the evening/night, I was too hungry before I went to bed. I've been doing this night/morning fast window successfully for years. It works and is comfortable for me. I don't feel hungry in the morning and don't go to bed hungry either. My husband started IF, 11:30-7:30, maybe 6 or so months ago. He is always hungry when as he's approaching his 11:30 eating window. (I don't feel that way.) Still, he finds it sustainable long term and has lost weight.
  4. It is easy to get Moderna next day appointments now local to me, and with a 30 or so minute drive, easy to get Pfizer next day as well. If a person was able and/or willing to travel to a "high capacity" site in my state, you could easily get next day appointments all along, including Pfizer. However, it wasn't easy, even though I live in a low uptake area, if you couldn't, or didn't want to, travel. Even earlier this month, all except the high capacity sites had no local availability or 1.5-2 month waits for appointments. That has changed dramatically in the last week or so.
  5. I use bis-glycinate--the Solgar Gentle Iron brand. It has been good for bringing up ferritin for me. I still take just to maintain. I will have a ferritin check in May, just to see where I am.
  6. I got an outdoor walk with family this evening, rain cut short but was still a decent length. I hope to do some relaxation based pilates before bed. Super busy week-end...I'm off-track movement-wise. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
  7. When/how soon wlll you get that first test back? Rapid/today? Here's the thing...I would assume that she wouldn't have been spreading, particularly outside, if her initial test is negative. I know there are false negatives, particularly for testing early after exposure. But, for outdoor spread with undectable virus--that risk seems quite low. For that reason together with the possible repurcussions for your daughter, I would lean toward just informing, at the most, that your family is quaranteening and testing due to an exposure and will let them know if there is a positive test. I would handle this differently w/ different relationship dynamics or if there had been a more risky level of exposure.
  8. I did a boosted Walk at Home for cardio. My arm/shoulder is bugging me-I'm getting nerve pain (something must be pinched). Anyway, I'm skipping strength stuff today.
  9. For my mother, also a breast cancer survivor with a small nodule found, it didn't mean anything. She did have follow up--I can't remember how long. You're right that small ones are less suggestive of cancer. I know it's hard not to worry.
  10. Maybe I will call a different center and see if their policy is different. I'll be nearly two months after last year's mammogram when I get mine. I have a family history of breast cancer, so that wait bugs me.
  11. I don't know if this has been mentioned on this thread, but I called today to schedule my mammogram. Radiology here doesn't want to do routine mammograms within 4 weeks of the vaccine. Apparently lymph node swelling can show up in the mammogram and be mistaken for cancer related changes.
  12. I did 30 minutes on my exercise bike, some back strengthening exercises, and a pilates session.
  13. No. It sounds like you really needed it. In studies the pre-dosing (before vaccines) slightly lowers the bodies response. I don't think they've shown the same after based on my research. Even if, it would still be effective enough. The effect is small, even in pre-dosing! I'm glad you're doing better.
  14. I wonder if your lymph nodes are inflammed/responding to the vaccine. They told me I could take ibuprofen or tylenol if I became very uncomfortable, but not to do it unless I needed it--she said, for example, if my temperature gets to 102/103, I would want to medicate but probably not for low grade fevers.
  15. We waited until high school. Then we had a string of curriculum failures until we found our groove. So they really started Spanish in 10th grade. We're box checking, which is just the right thing for one but not for the other. If I could go back, I would start in middle school, even maybe elementary to build familiarity. Even for the foreign language box check suitable learner.
  16. Today was so busy and tiring. I had to force myself to follow my movement plan. Once I got started (way later tonight than I would like), I was glad I was doing it. I'm thankful for this thread--it helps keep me on target (most of the time). Thank you for doing it Amanda/purpleowl. I got 30 minutes on my bike and an abs focused pilates session (I started a new, short Pilates challenge today.)
  17. We are over week past (some of our) 2nd vaccinations so: Me-- Pfizer 1: significant arm pain for 2.5 days--it moved into my shoulder and neck. It interfered with movement and sleep because I am a side sleeper. I had low energy in retrospect, though that could have been because the arm made sleep so hard! Pfizer 2: milder arm pain (I made a concerted effort to relax it during injection, drink water, move it tons after) that didn't intefere with my sleep, even when I rolled on that side. The next day: headache, fatigue, low fever. I was still functional and all this was limited--I've felt great after that intial day after. Husband- Pfizer 1: very mild arm pain Pfizer 2: mild (but greater than shot 1) arm pain, the next day: headache and significant muscle aches (flu like). He felt fine after that day. Son #1 (teen)- Pfizer 1: extremely mild arm pain, eczema like itchy rash where he received the vaccine that spread down the arm and lasted a week or two (we're not sure exactly when it started). He's not at all an allergy or eczema person, so this surprised me. Pfizer 2: mild arm and shoulder pain, the next day: mild fatigue, low grade fever, an enlarged lymph node on the vaccine arm that was painful initially but is getting smaller/better. (This particular teen sometimes gets swollen lymph nodes with viruses as well.) Son #2 (teen); Pfizer 1: mild arm pain, developed COVID arm about a week post vaccine, which is resolving quickly. (no Pfizer 2 yet)
  18. I did a fitness marshall sweat session this morning and a pilates session, which turned out to be more intense that I expected, this evening. I will probably do a relaxation based movement of some sort tonight.
  19. I did a boosted Walk at Home and relaxation based pilates this evening.
  20. I did 45 minutes total on my exercise bike (in two sets/got interrupted). Then I got some back/core strengthening pilates.
  21. Ha! (I love walk at home--so convenient!)
  22. I got a 2 mile walk (w/others, coversational but good pace) before the rain came.
  23. I did some aerobic dance stuff (light to moderate, 20-30 total minutes, but was interrupted) and some relaxation/stretch based pilates.
  24. We drove to see the 2017 one. This one passes over us, but who knows if we will have clear sky for it! Hope so! I would love to experience it again.
  25. It's great that you will be 2 weeks out from your shot. I think you'll have some decent protection. Likely your office will take precautions to try to limit your potential exposure. I did not go to the dentist during COVID. Neither did my kids. I canceled appts for myself and them. I'm not sure it was wise. I guess we will find out at our first appts (post vaccine). My husband did go, twice, in the midst of COVID surges and did fine. Our office had people wait in the car for texts to come in, limited number of people at one time, required masks, and had the patients swish with mothwash before cleanings/work (I think that's it). I think it's as safe as it can be. I did not want my husband to do it, but he felt it was worth the risk for himself. (I understand that....I had a mammogram during the height of COVID myself..it was worth the risk to me..of course I could remain masked throughout that!). I have a son in braces and another with a retainer. I did do orthodontist appts (they did wait in the car, one parent with patient, limited numbers, etc.). Orthodontics, for someone in braces, doesn't seem like something I could avoid.
