  1. I appreciate them too purpleowl! I have a busy afternoon/evening, so got my movement in early: a fitness marshall sweat session and some back/core strengthening. I may do some relaxation pilates tonight if it works out.
  2. They swarm/mate in the spring. We did our own treatment--I had two baits--one was protein based and the other sweet based. In different parts of their life cycle, they will eat different things. Often you will have more than one colony, so I found I needed to continue to bait longer than I expected (ie--I saw the dead colony and thought I was done...well, was with that one). I successfully treated carpenter ants here 5? years ago. This spring I see a new batch, which is disappointing. So I just started treating again. Killed one set I think, but I'm going to keep treating for a while in case there are more. It might be easier to just do extermination. I would just ask how much experience they have. I'm super curious about the different plans you were offered?
  3. I ran out of time and energy and didn't get any "beyond life" movement yesterday. I slept horribly last night! Not sure if it's entirely connected to my lack of movement, but I'm sure it didn't help. Today I did 30 minutes on my bike and a walk at home boosted walk to make up the missed cardio goal from yesterday. I did some work with weights this evening.
  4. My one month subscription to body groove expires today, so I did a couple groove HIIT routines--one this afternoon and another tonight.
  5. I did a body groove HIIT this morning and went on a family walk this afternoon.
  6. I did 30 minutes on my exercise bike and a little pilates strengthening (back/core)
  7. I forgot to post yesterday. I had some muscle strain this week, so yesterday I just did boosted Walk at Home and some stretches.
  8. I am scheduled to get my 2nd Pfizer vax late afternoon next Monday. I've got a morning court appearance for my CASA case Wednesday. They just scheduled me in an open slot at the time I received my first shot, and the court thing never entered my mind at the time. If you had "flu like" side effects, how long did they last? I'm trying to figure out how likely I am to not be feeling well enough for that court appearance. I don't want to reschedule my vaccination, but maybe I should?
  9. I agree, and it sounds like you're thinking this OP, that 2 meds at once wouldn't be my choice. My son's psychiatrist doesn't like to do that either. It's really better to know which med is causing a side effect (if there are any--I hope there aren't). Those two meds in particular both caused severe insomnia in my son. If we had trialed both at once, it would have been harder to sort out. I really like using a psychiatrist for this, particularly when you find that certain medications already aren't right (the adderall and ritalin). Side note: my son can only handle short or mid acting Ritalin....long acting forms always cause side effects for him that are intolerable...mentioning in case your son was only prescribed long acting forms of the adderall/ritalin) I hope you find what helps. I'm sorry he's struggling so much.
  10. I did exercise bike and body groove HIIT for cardio and pilates based back/core focus for strength.
  11. I did a boosted Walk at Home this morning.
  12. I did my exercise bike and a body groove HIIT for cardio. I worked with weights a little, then finished with some stretch and relaxation based pilates.
  13. Praying for him, and for you.
  14. I did a boosted walk at home and body groove HIIT for cardio. (I also went on a walk at coversational/visiting pace). I did a little bit of stretch and strengthen this evening.
  15. Just adding another voice. My husband has anaphylactic food allergies. He didn't tell them because they only asked about drug or vaccine allergies when checking him in, so he wasn't told to stay longer (though he did). He had epi pens. No problems--Pfizer. I am signing my son up (Pfizer, he's under 18) as soon as he is eligible next week. He is anaphylactic to tree nut, sesame , and mango. His allergist/pulmonologist definitely recommended he get the shot when we had our last appointment. He'll have an epi pen and wait 30 minutes, but I don't expect problems.
  16. I share your dislike of exercise in heat, Amanda. ---- I did 30 minutes on my exercise bike this morning. I planned to walk today (it's temporarily beautiful weather), but it didn't work out. Maybe tomorrow.
  17. I agree that pulmonology is best. Your son doesn't sound well managed. Using an inhaler (w/spacer) prior to exercise is normal for asthmatics. Keep doing that. But, when we got my son's asthma under control (allergy control for him), we didn't have to do that anymore. Remember that food allergy tests have a really high rate of false positives. You only want to treat it like an allergy if it causes symptoms. Environmental allergy tests are much more accurate. HEPA filter in the bedroom helped in our old house, allergy friendly bed (wash and dry all bedding on hot weekly) helped, so did getting rid of carpet (and our cats died before we moved, this house has never had a cat...I know that and lack of carpet helped him a lot...we rarely use the HEPA anymore).
  18. I did the boosted Walk at Home, a HIIT body groove, some pilates based strengthening, and some work with weights.
  19. I did not know this until that article was posted today, so I'm happy!
  20. I got 30 minutes on my exercise bike this morning. I'm moving up a resistance level, and, so, I'm pedaling slower than I would like to be for now. Because I'm not sure how that affects the cardio benefits, I added a Body Groove HIIT to bump up the cardio and give me the bone benefit of weight bearing movement. I did a couple pilates routines (strength and then stretch/relax) this afternoon.
  21. I'm sorry. I hope it resolves quickly for you.
  22. I did a boosted Walk at Home this morning for cardio. I am at really high risk for osteoperosis. I've been working, nearly every other day for a while, on pilates and related strengthening exercises specific to my back/core and osteoperosis prevention. A friend shared a good osteoperosis resource today and, from that, I learned a lot, tried some new things, and adjusted my "osteoperosis focused pilates" routine today and going forward. I did some work with weights, adding a bit to what I have been doing, also based on the site.
  23. It seems to affect my sleep when I don't get my regular exercise.
  24. I did 45 minutes on my exercise bike and pilates (glutes). I am going to try to do a relaxation based pilates tonight.
