  1. I also couldn't get a good seal on Happy Masks. That may not be a problem if she isn't a glasses wearer. (But if she doesn't need really good protection and doesn't have glasses I would do something inexpensive and machine washable--maybe the Old Navy Masks). (We use Breethy Masks...comfortable, great seal--no leaks on glasses, easy to clean, KN95 protection with replaceable filter, and I believe they are still 50% off right now...but they are made of silicone, so won't blend in with everyone else if that's important. Everyone here, including small face me, uses an adult large).
  2. Didn't get any focused movement done today. I hate to miss a day, because getting out of habit can really mess me up, and I know it will be a challenge to fit deliberate exercise into this weekend as well. I'll try to do some extra tomorrow.
  3. What a day (not in a good way). Glad it's nearly over. I'm proud of myself that I got movement in despite a lot. I did 30 minutes (in split sessions) on my exercise bike, and arm/back strengthening stuff. Tomorrow might be tough, but I'm going to try to get at least some movement.
  4. I did a Fitness Marshall sweat session for cardio and legs/core focus for strengthening. I hope add some relaxation based pilates tonight.
  5. Two 17 year olds--"A" is 3 weeks past his 2nd dose, and "B" is one week past his 2nd dose. ---- A--first dose-COVID arm that moved to new onset eczema spreading down that arm (took about 2 weeks or so to resolve). Very mild tender arm. A-2nd dose: about 24 hours of low grade fever, mild headache, mild fatigue. Painful, swollen lymph node in injection arm that resolved quickly (injection point itself was only mildly affected). He mostly did his normal routine the next day without issues. ---- B--first dose--injection site tenderness, hives on arm and upper torso appeared that evening or the next day (resolved quickly), COVID arm about a week after the vaccine. B-2nd dose--higher fever (102), nausea, more significant headache and fatigue. All resolved largely within 24 hours, but he mostly laid around/slept. Like his brother, he also had a lymph node swelling that quickly resolved. ------ It was not a big deal, but it's curious to me that both my teens had COVID arm and then lymph node stuff while neither their dad nor I had anything like that w/Pfizer. But, other than that, our post shot experiences were pretty similar to theirs.
  6. I met others for a walk today. They were running late, so I jogged until they arrived...I'm not sure how far/long, but it felt like a decent workout. When they got there, we walked a little over 2 miles at a conversational pace. When I got home, I did my arms and back workout.
  7. I don't personally know any kids with bad outcomes, though I do know a few who felt pretty sick. As far as teens, a 17 year old local friend of my teens had MISC. She's slowly recovering. Her father nearly died, and he's in his 40's. I think we'll find out a lot about genetics interacting with COVID in the future.
  8. I did a boosted Walk at Home and legs/core strengthening stuff.
  9. My sister tested positive for COVID last year. Symptoms: sore throat, temporary loss of smell/taste, bad headache that couldn't be relieved, exhaustion/extreme fatigue. She did not infect anyone else in her family, including her spouse and kids (all had negative tests). The family had a lot of close contact prior to realizing she was sick. She felt back to normal after about two weeks. No long term issues.
  10. I did 30 minutes on my bike and arms/back focused strengthening today. It's hard here (in my home) right now. Getting the movement is helping me manage I think.
  11. You know, I want to add. My son did not get hives directly after the shot. It was that night or the next day (I can't recall)..but well after 4 hours. I think hives within a few hours of the shot is more serious than those coming later, presumably from the immune system.
  12. I almost forgot to post today. I did a Fitness Marshall sweat session and legs/core focused strengthening.
  13. My son got hives from his first Pfizer. No hives for him with the second. He takes Zyrtec regularly and, with both doses, he waited 30 minutes with his epi pens. (He's an allergic type/has also had food related hives).
  14. I did a boosted Walk at Home for cardio followed by arm and back strengthening.
  15. I only noticed that duration section after I hit submit. I can't edit it. I'm not sure how I would have voted, though. Largely, I would say mild/did not interfere. However, after my first shot my arm pain was pretty bad--it interfered with my sleep for two nights and I couldn't exercise, or reach, using that arm either. My second shot was easier in that respect, though I had many more symptoms post second shot.
  16. My sister, who had previously had COVID, had a strong reaction to her first Pfizer. She was told those who have already had it might have a reaction to the first shot that is similar to other's reactions to the 2nd. The first is kind of a booster in those w/prior infections. Her 2nd Pfizer was much easier.
  17. My 2nd teen got his 2nd Pfizer yesterday. Both he and my other teen got COVID arm after the first Pfizer and both had a swollen, painful lymph node after the 2nd shot. He had a 101-102 fever most of the day and a significant headache and eye pain. (The eye pain subsided before the headache.) His headache description seemed worse than the headache the rest of us in the family had post shot. He tends to run really high fevers with viruses (103-105 with the last virus he had). He didn't do his normal routine the next day. He laid around most of the day until about 24 hours after his shot, when he started feeling better. He had an episode of minor vomitting early afternoon, but I think that was mostly because he hadn't felt like eating anything that day. I'm not sure. Nausea subsided after that and he ate a little, then ate quite a bit 24 hours post shot/later that evening. I'd say he and my husband had the strongest post 2nd vaccine reactions in the family (both felt fine after about 24 hours).
  18. I got a little over 30 minutes on my exercise bike and then did legs/core strengthening.
  19. I did boosted Walk at Home for cardio. Then I did arms and back focused strengthening (without weights--I'm using pilates, body weight, and resistance bands). My plan is to do legs/core and arms/back strengthening on alternate days. I'll see how that works for me.
  20. I got an hour (2 sets) on my stationary bike this morning. I had a conversational pace 2ish mile walk this afternoon (beautiful weather where I am today).
  21. I did 30 minutes on my exercise bike, then some back focused strengthening.
  22. I did a Fitness Marshall sweat session for cardio. I did a pilates routine--the final one in a challenge. Then I tried a number of different things today to form a possible arm based work out. (Rather than another challenge, I think I'm going to try to make a specific to my needs strengthen routine for various body parts--similar to what I've done with my back. I've been pleased with the progress I've made in that area.)
  23. So sweet (and neat--she's absorbing it!)
  24. I did 40 -45 minutes on my exercise bike (2 sessions/interrupted) for cardio. I did a pilates based back/core focus for strengthening today. I'll probably do some relaxation based pilates before bed.
  25. I did a boosted walk at home pretty soon after I got up this morning, then added a 15 minute walk at home later in the day. I did a short pilates (legs/back/core) and some work with weights (squats and arms) this evening.
