  1. I love your avatar every time I see it. Where did you find it?

  2. Hi Christy!

  3. Oh, man, I wanna meet your duck!

Loved reading about your pets. They sound awesome.

  4. Glad you mentioned that TOG has helped w/ the timed essay! I just ordered TOG for us to use this year (nervous because I spent so much) & it makes me happy to hear that TOG may help us learn skills that I consider essential for college & beyond.

  5. Glad you gals enjoyed it.

I started reading the Twilight book as a joke w/ my sister. But (after hearing so many raves from folks), I quickly became appalled at the stalker-ish & controlling relationship in the book (not to menion the mind-numbing, boring, simplistic writing style). I still don't get why these have such a huge following. (It's kind of scary, imo.) I never watched Buffy, but I did know about the show & loved the Buffy vs. Edward video. LOL. Rose (from these boards) originally pointed me to the video/blog site. I'm so glad she did!

  6. Oh, I am so w/ you on the problems w/ Twilight!!!

Have you seen this? I so totally agree w/ what they're saying & I certainly enjoyed the Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs. Edward video, lol.

  7. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. I cannot imagine your heartache.

    Wishing you peace.

  8. Hey, very cool ideas in my 'current events' thread! Thanks for posting!

  9. Of course my ds was taught by his new friends at the age of six without training wheels. It reached the point where I banned his riding until I got more band-aids. It seemed that part of the training included riding down 4-7 concrete steps. :w00t: :svengo:

I just had to say thanks for the chuckle today. (Not that I'm laughing about your ds getting hurt, but rather that his friends take him through such rigorous training, lol!!) Guess he's ready for most anything he'll face on a bike, huh?

  10. Just had to put something cute & girly over here after seeing your post about your upcoming addition being a girl!

  11. Just had to say hello because I like your Diet Coke avatar, lol. :seeya:

    (Yes, I'm a Diet Coke junkie.) :D

  12. Keeping you in good & hopeful thoughts re: your dh's job loss. :grouphug:

  13. :grouphug: on the layoff situation with your dh. It's tough. Hang in there! I'll keep you in my thoughts.

  14. :seeya: Hi & welcome!

  15. As usual, I've enjoyed another one of your posts again -- this time, the tai chi one.

Wish I could make it to your yoga class because I like the way you explain things, lol. I've never tried yoga (or tai chi), but am interested in trying it.... Any pointers or tips for a complete newbie to it all to find a teacher or learn more?

    Thanks!

  16. Ok, for some reason, when I ran across this, I thought you could appreciate the humor in it:

    Facebook Haggadah

I thought it was clever & hope you get a chuckle out of it too....

  17. Love your "professional bedlam tamer" siggy!

  18. Thanks for the Glencoe Lit link! It looks great. :001_smile:

  19. I checked out your son's blog & tried to leave him a message on it. But, I don't have any of the 'required' accounts to post a message. I do know that some blogs let you set up 'anonymous' as an option (not sure if your son wanted to do that in his case) for posters like me (who read a lot online & comment once in awhile, but don't have all the bells & whistles of internet life, lol).

Anyway, just wanted to mention it & let him know that I tried to post, lol.

  20. Thanks for posting about the eagle cam. We've really been enjoying watching it! :001_smile:

  21. Thanks for the mention of Jim Trelease's "Read-Aloud Handbook" in a recent post. I picked up a copy from the library & am in the middle of reading it. What a fantastic resource. I'm so glad you posted about it! :001_smile:

  22. Thanks so much for mentioning Jim Trelease's "Read-Aloud Handbook" in a post the other week. I picked up a copy at the library & am in the middle of reading it. What a fantastic book! I'm so glad you mentioned it. :001_smile:

  23. Thanks for posting about Jim Trelease's "Read-Aloud Handbook" the other week. I picked up a copy from the library & am reading it now. I have to agree w/ you -- it is an awesome book! So glad you mentioned it. :001_smile:

  24. Loved your post about dealing w/ a hormonal 11yo girl. Well-said & very good reminders.

    Thanks!
