It's Monday! Welcome to the Lounge!

Today's theme stems from the fact that my morning did not start out well. Finances are annoying!

And my husband is discouraged, and rightly so, due to his job. It's just not a good beginning to the week!

Anyone else have a discouraging start to their week? Here: see above.

Anyone have something they're looking forward to this week? Here: tomorrow night I have a coffee date with a new friend,

Wednesday night I have a meeting with some of my writing peeps, and Saturday I get to go on an exclusive tour of a local crime lab!  :hurray:

What's going on today? Here: some admin this morning, schooling this afternoon, and maybe some studying this evening.

Talk to me! :bigear:

No bad start to the week. Sorry you are having financial stress, it is the leading cause of my stress for me most of the time.

This week I'm looking forward to getting used to our new normal. Dh is off on Mondays now, so far so good. I'm also looking forward to my study group on Thursday night. It will be the third week and it has been pretty awesome to get consistent time away from the kids having real conversations.

No school for us so Mondays anymore! Today we're doing a bit of cleaning, boardgames, and a trip to the mall because I have a gift card I want to spend

Discouraging Start to the Week: I'm sick.  And I think I'm heading into bronchitis.  I do that.  I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday morning.

Looking Forward To: Maybe getting healthy.  That would be nice.

Today: School, Ani's nannying and then working, Cameron's working at two different taekwondo schools.

I didn't get half of what I really needed to get done this weekend.  And it is all LOOMING over me today.  But time to gird up my loins (easy to do since I'm still in my bathrobe) and get at it.

Tomorrow I'm going to try to trigger bad symptoms in my dd (who is wearing a heart monitor) by taking her to a laser show.  The laser show she went to this summer gave her the worst symptoms she's had.  We're not sure it is heart but we  need to get what data we can so that the doctor can figure this out.  I don't think that she's looking forward to this. . . .   And neither am I (I'm not a sadist) but I desperately want to help my daughter.

Today I'm taking the car into the shop because the brakes wobble ominously whenever I go down a hill.

So far, so good. Kids are finishing up chores, planning is done, Luna is entertaining herself.

We are going to the state fair on Friday. We've never been. I think it will be a good time.

I;m trying to squeeze in a family game day and a zoo trip this week. I think I can make it happen.

Today is story day. We need to fill in our Read to Ride sheets. 10 word book reports on 3 books. I really like this program. I have yet to crack open the state fair curriculum. I'll put it on the schedule somewhere.

Wow I could have written your first paragraph lol. That's similar to what we are going through. Plus we have had such a busy last 3 days I don't think we've had more than a few hours sleep each night. I think this week I'm just looking forward to getting back to a busy schedule instead of our super crazy busy life right now.

We are all on the end of a cold. So still lacking energy today. We were able to do a light day of school though and played games.

This week (as of right now) has no surprises for me so should be a full week of getting school done! I have family visiting in a few weeks so we are trying to get as much as we can in so we have time off to enjoy. And that is what I am looking forward to- a "normal" week.

Jean, I 'liked' your post to say I understand! May you be able to figure out what's going on with your dd! What are her symptoms?

Butter, sorry you're not feeling well!

High blood pressure

Low blood pressure  - yes, both

Racing heartbeat

dizziness

nausea

almost blacking out.

She's been followed by a cardiologist for over two years now.  She got a surprise diagnosis of celiac disease this summer but going strictly gluten free has not affected these symptoms.

Good morning everyone!

Anyone else have a discouraging start to their week? Yep.  I was up late and knew that, if I slept in, I would need to hit the ground running.  And that is not what I did.  I spilled my tea on my "walking the dog" clothes and had to change.  Our furnace and A/C are getting replaced tomorrow so our house is very cold.  And I still haven't walked the dog.  (He's been out ... dh takes him out before he leaves for work so it isn't urgent.)

Anyone have something they're looking forward to this week? New furnace and a/c meaning lower energy bills and a more comfortable house!  Other than that, homework for my online class (about 15 hours work, I estimate) and tackling the counselor portion of the common app pretty hard and FAFSA after I finish...

What's going on today? my taxes.  I did an extension in April because we were missing some data.  I had hoped to have been farther along, but I was exhausted after burning the midnight oil to get my classwork done and decluttering before having guests this weekend.  I really hope to get them done before 2:30 when I have to leave to take dd in for practice since I really don't want to have to finish them at the climbing gym.

Yah, I would say discouraging start. Our 17 year old cat is losing weight rapidly, and losing bladder and bowel control. We are already thinking we were probably at the end with her, but when I picked her up today, I could feel a mass in her belly. We have an appointment tomorrow at 1 p.m. Thankfully, she isn't in pain at this time so one more day is okay.

Today ds and I exercised at the gym, and he is working on his school work. It is a bit of bummer day due to the above so since his last two colleges APs aren't due until Nov. 1st, and I always send them priority, registered I think they can wait until Wednesday so we can deal with the down feelings. He is working on calculus now, and we'll have French and chemistry later but I think we will skip English, art history, and  American Government today.

Ani has those symptoms (among others).  She also has been followed by a cardiologist.  His diagnosis three years ago was inappropriate sinus tachycardia.  After being hospitalized earlier this year, they revised her diagnosis.  She has POTS.

Good afternoon, Scrap!

Anyone else have a discouraging start to their week?

Oh, yes. We were camping with scouts over the weekend, so today has been a slow day. We needed the break from routine and I do not regret going, but I feel behind and unorganized. Ds was not well behaved today and did not do very well on his school work today. I took a quick look at the budget and our checking acct and that is definitely discouraging.

Anyone have something they're looking forward to this week?

Nothing out of the ordinary, but I always look forward to Wed night church because I love not making dinner and seeing my friends, and enjoy teaching my 5th grade class. Hoping for coffee with a friend later in the week. Dh and I meet with the educational psychologist later in the week to get the results of ds' evals. Looking forward to taking the next steps.

What's going on today?

School is done. Dinner is almost done. I am tired and a little discouraged (about my parenting and our homeschooling and finances). The rest of the day: dinner, pay bills, prep for tomorrow, housework, get kids to bed, read a novel.

😠second morning running when someone spilled an entire drink on the table. And this morning it was my coffee. My first coffee for the day. This is what makes me wanna quit like instantly. The hard maths everything else ... I can do. But spilled drinks near books and papers send me batty!

Tomorrow was going to be my first chance to sleep in a little bit in almost a week and now I have to drive dh into work because one car has a steering fluid leak so it's at the shop.

I started teaching my science classes today.  It went really well, kids had a great time, I'm excited for the rest of my classes this week.  I taught Messy Science today, I teach Junior Scientists (for K-2nd grade) and a CSI class on Thursday.
