Hats for women who don't wear hats

I'm considering a hat as a viable option for hiding second day hair on vacation.  (This is mostly due to the amount of time it takes for me to cajole my hair into passable shape these days.)  I am a regular sun hat wearer at the beach or pool, but I'd like something that's a little less large/sun hat-ish. I've never in my life worn a baseball cap, though I do think it's a cute look on some women (not sure I'm one of those women, though.).  My hair is a short angled bob that tends to be wavy, so no ponytail to contend with, though I think short hair poses its own hat problem. I'm also on the plump side and not as young as I used to be, though I still have young-ish kids (and I'm actually old enough to be my baby's grandma).

Ideas?  Bonus point for links.

I like technical hiking hats, and they are kind of beyond cuteness, which is nice.  They convey, Hey, I’m SERIOUS.  But in a good, outdoorsy way.

If I were looking for one right now, I’d want to try on this one:

Mountain Hardware is another good brand.  I like a chin strap in case of wind, but generally wear it loosely.   It’s also great for securely the hat to a purse strap at times.

Maybe this one:

I do have cute headbands.  I was hoping to actually cover up my hair (as needed), though.

Buffwear e.g. https://www.buff.com/us/coonet-uvr-half-neckwear-buff-lazs-grey-grey-131613937.html?size=16675

I have thicker ones for winter and thin UV ones for summer. I do wear baseball caps since I have a few. I also have a sunday afternoon sunhat that is similar to the links Carol posted https://sundayafternoons.com/products/adventure-hat?variant=38046303551678

Try the baseball cap- try to find a soft women's style that doesn’t stick up anywhere and then play around with your hair. I have a Nike technical type. If you Google short hair in a baseball cap you’ll find some looks. Lots of them have your hair covering your ears with a cap on top.
I wear one a lot. I’ve come to like the look. I sweat a lot and have a thin spot that goes funny when it’s not working just right so I love the hat look. I’ve been looking for other types, but so far the casual baseball one works for me.

I have one very similar to this that I wear when I need a cap. I’m not a “cap/hat person” but I always like to have one for certain outdoor things, and this has been the only one I like. It’s very lightweight and fits close to the head. Mine is an older style, but it’s the same style as this.

I have two hats from Columbia like this one.
https://www.amazon.com/Columbia-Unisex-Schooner-BankTM-Cachalot/dp/B09WK2VHJF

One has the curved brim, one has a straight brim. I prefer the straight brim. I wear them to garden, mow the lawn, weed eat, walk, whatever.

I also have the wide brim hats, but I like these better. I just find them more comfortable.

I got this hat in white for last year’s beach vacation and I now find myself throwing it on whenever my hair is kind of gross and really needs to be washed. Lol
