Tina
We'll have three days in Nashville next month, and have never been there. Where should we go? Bluebird Cafe and ??
fairfarmhand
The Parthenon and the frist center. At least that's what I'd do. Look at what's happening at the Ryman too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Caclcoca
I was also going to recommend the Parthenon.
JFSinIL
Also the Hermitage, Pres. Jackson's house - http://thehermitage.com, and there is a great museum downtown - http://www.tnmuseum.org/custpage.cfm/frm/39793/sec_id/40746. Plus after seeing the Parthenon you can walk over and eat at Hog Heaven. Oh, and the kids always loved going into the huge Opryland hotel and wandering from section to section - we saw Chinese acrobats there (free) one night. Place is huge! We would park at the edge of the mall and walk through a garden area (there is a path for hotel guests to take to the mall, works both ways) to get to the hotel. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/bnago-gaylord-opryland-resort-and-convention-center/ Edited January 21, 2017 by JFSinIL

ScoutTN
Yes, the Bluebird if you can get in! Check out the Nashville Scene to see what is happening in music while you are here. Downtown or near it: The Parthenon, Country Music Hall of Fame, The Frist (Art Museum, check to see if you like the exhibit. Kids are free. Good hands-on at Art Quest.). The Ryman, Music Row, Belle Meade Plantation (Esp. good of you like civil war era history or horses!) East of town: Opryland hotel and the Grand Ole Opry, the Hermitage (pricey b/c it is a national historic site, not just a state one.) A random, personal favorite: Olive and Sinclair chocolate factory in East Nashville. Tours on the hour on Saturdays. Yummm! Downtown Franklin is fun too, if you have a car and are up for a 40 minute trek south on 65.
Dmmetler
Bicentennial park is good too, especially if it's a warm day-there is a large map of TN with fountains where the main rivers are :). For younger DC, the Adventure Science Center is good, especially if you don't have a good hands-on science museum available regularly. Definitely park at the Opry Mills Mall and walk over to the Opryland hotel-the parking is ridiculously high at the hotel (something like $20 last time we were there). Our favorite hotel is the Drury Inn-nice indoor/outdoor pool, good breakfast, and 5:30 "Kickback" which is a fairly kid-friendly (albeit not terribly nutritious) meal It's also nice to walk through the college campuses and just get the feel, and most have museums and art displays as well.
