Heatherwith4
Apparently, Amazon has decided to add this as a benefit of prime membership. There are lots of books and magazines free for prime members.

shawthorne44
I wonder how you find those books?
Heatherwith4
When I opened the app on my phone today, it said "Introducing Prime Reading." And it said that any books or magazines marked with the Prime symbol were included.
poppy
Ths looks great, thank you!! Is this replacing Prime Unlimted or whatever that monthly fee on was? ETA- Kindle Unlimited Edited October 5, 2016 by poppy
TrixieB
Ths looks great, thank you!! Is this replacing Prime Unlimted or whatever that monthly fee on was? ETA- Kindle Unlimited I don't think so. The Prime Reading description says "over a thousand books, comics, magazines..." but Kindle Unlimited is billed as having a million titles available.

SJ.
Thanks! Have you also heard of the audiobooks and podcasts offered through Prime on Audible?
ErinC2100
Be careful..when I clicked on a magazine to read it, there was a paragraph below saying that it would start an automatic paid subscription after 30 days.

QueenCat
How is this different than the one selection a month kindle lending library when you have prime? I've had that for years.
Heatherwith4
How is this different than the one selection a month kindle lending library when you have prime? I've had that for years. Well, there is a larger selection. Supposedly thousands. I haven't had enough time to look at it closely yet.

You can get 10 at a time. The selection looks better as well.

With the Kindle lending library, you actually have to read on a Kindle device. With this new option, you can use another device (like an iPad) with the Kindle app to read the books. Do you have a Prime membership? From what I read in the help section, Prime Reading is a available to paid Prime membership, Prime membership free trials, and a 30-day free trial. For those with a Prime membership, it's an included service like Prime Music and Videos. https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202094460
QueenCat
Well, there is a larger selection. Supposedly thousands. I haven't had enough time to look at it closely yet. It looks like it's a smaller collection in Prime Reading. Just over 1000 choices (currently, 1014 choices), from what I can tell, after spending a few minutes there. It seems like there are more options in the Lending Library but can't check that until I'm on the actual kindle...........
