Inspire Me: Favorite Homeschool blogs?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for some new homeschool blogs to read.  I want to see both the more professional and the more personal blogs that inspire you in your homeschool!

Personally, I like:

Amongst Lovely Things

Wildflowers and Marbles

Like Mother Like Daughter

Simply Charlotte Mason blog

I want to add some more to my Bloglovin!

Mt Hope Chronicles -- inspiring posts on educating classically + the.best.booklists.ever + stunning photography.  curling up with my cozy newborn, a cup of coffee, and Heidi's delightful writing is truly therapeutic for me.  :001_smile:

Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood -- jam-packed with classical resources, reviews, ideas, and great info for navigating the classical (and specifically CC) world.  I'm not a CCer, but this blog is top on my list.

I like our very own Farrar's blog, especially for reading recomendations as our children are similar ages             https://farrarwilliams.wordpress.com/

Also a poster here, embassy, has a blog which I've found useful w/r/t curricula--http://eclectic-homeschool.com/2014-2015-curriculum-choices-for-7th-5th-and-1st-grades/

http://countingcoconuts.blogspot.com  (not updated in a while, but we made some of the projects on her site)

There was another blog I read recently that was really interesting and I can't find it.  Their family unschooled and the oldest graduated from U of Chicago...they had three college-aged kids...  If I find it, I'll add it to the list.

I recently purged after trying to keep up with about 100 various blogs. Those homeschooling blogs you listed are the only ones I read now. I'm no help.

Oh yeah! Also Simply Convivial by Mystie, here. Hers is the only other one!

Thanks, Kristie!

I also like Afterthoughts (afterthoughtsblog.net), ladydusk's blog (ladydusk.blogspot.com), and the ones that have already been mentioned. :)

I also read FIMBY (http://fimby.tougas.net/), she has all middle & high kids now. They are "freedom"/unschooler and not classical, but she also writes about how family life changes as kids get older and how to give them independence and ownership.

I have loved so much of what Elizabeth Foss has said over the years, and I think you can just search for elizabethfoss.com, and it'll come up, but there has been less about the how-to of homeschooling in the past couple of years. However, it's all still there somewhere.

I also liked By Sun and Candlelight for a while, very crafty-oriented and inspiring.

Thank you ever so much for the kind words. They made my day!

I cannot believe I've been blogging for almost 8 years and homeschooling for 9. And now I have a 7th grade son who is just weeks away from his teen years. Gulp. Homeschooling adolescents is a complete different ball game, and some days I feel as if I've lost an inning... Ha!

As I read her posts, I am constantly thinking, "Yes!  THIS is how I want to homeschool!"  Lots of notebooking and CM inspiration.  She also gets into homeschooling higher grade levels.  Such an inspiration!

ETA:
Oh, and this one!!
http://steampoweredclassroom.com/ Wonderful inspiration and resources for my very STEM-y kids.
